Re: Favorite Super Bowl 08 Commercials
I did not think that the writers strike would affect advertisments.

As to the SalesGenie commercials. I have no idea what they were about, but there was a piece on Sunday Morning discussing SB Commercials and apparently the owner of the company wrote those spots himself. Last year they apparently had a really awful commercial and it generated enough traffic that he thought it would be worth it to run another awful commercial. I don't quite get the logic, unless it was the idea that it would be so bad that it would make you remember the name even if it was because you hated/were offended by the ad. I guess the idea is that a strong emotion, even if negative, is better than no emotion to a mediocre commercial.

Re: Favorite Super Bowl 08 Commercials
Anything by Victoria's Secret.
Oh and the Will Ferell one was funny too. I think there's been a pretty serious public backlash in recent years with respect to the halftime show and the ads. After the whole Janet Jackson boob thing everything has seemed a lot tamer. I would've let my two year old watch this year's halftime show, and I don't really recall anything that would stir up much in the way of FCC complaints as far as the ads go. The whole production seemed to get edgier and edgier every year, and now it seems a lot tamer and family friendly.

I bet they'll whip out Simon and Garfunkle for the halftime show next year and play "Sounds of Silence". At least everyone will have a nice 30 minute nap.

Re: Favorite Super Bowl 08 Commercials
For anyone who didn't see the salesgenie commercial (This one is for the Asian pandas), here's a link to it from a gossip website. (Yeah I know a lot of my links are from gossip sites. I'm a girl. Give me a break. )

^^^
Ingenious. A commercial that rebuts all SB Commercials. Plus the high life commercials are funny anyways...that one was great.

Rather than start a new thread 09 Begins here.
I liked the Troy Polamalu Coke Zero commercial which is a parody of the Mean Joe Greene one. All in all though, I think that they are just getting worse and worse every year. |

Re: Favorite Super Bowl 08 Commercials
I want to see the movies that are coming out. Star Trek, GI Joe, and Tranformers. What can I say? I'm a nerd. Those were the best. I did like Troy's commercial. The one where they daydreamed about punching the animals (by Monster?, some job agency) was good too.

Re: Favorite Super Bowl 08 Commercials
Now that you mention comercials I can't really rember any of them. Thats either because I had been up sense 4am and fishing all day or the burbon talking. Probably a little of both.
