Re: Happy 20th Anniversary Superbowl XXII
That quarter is probably the greatest offensive display in the history of the NFL, in any game. The Skins scored 5 TDs in 18 plays, AVERAGING about 20 yards per play. With a 25 point lead, at least Gibbs showed some class by not running up the game in the 2nd half. The Skins could have scored 75 that day, and their 602 total yards in a Super Bowl may never be broken.

Re: Happy 20th Anniversary Superbowl XXII
I was 5 days old i believe and my dad watched it while i was in the hospital, and because of him telling me that story all the time.... well as long as i can remember i have always been a redskins fan.
On a personal note, the fact that Doug Williams is black qb is irrelevant. mentioning that fact makes you a racist. Im so tired of this black qb black head coach bullsh** Wheres all the white cornerbacks at? oh yeah there arent any. yeah i said it

Re: Happy 20th Anniversary Superbowl XXII
Let's see, in 1988 I was almost (yikes) 40 years old!!! Anyway, with no more reference to age, I remember that I was surprised that Monk hadn't gotten a TD and then I remember my best friend reminding me he was recovering from an injury. Then I saw him in the formation and runnning routes to draw defenders away from his temmates..damn, what a day that was, what a team that was, and what a pro Monk was!!

The NFL Films segment from thier highlight films is pretty well done also. Music, sound bytes, etc. I will try to post if I can.
