I think some competition for Suisham in the preseason wouldn't hurt. Frost got hurt by penalties today
Absolutely. We should have had a TD. To pin it on Suisham is a cop-out. At least 11 guys had a shot at putting this thing away before he took the field.

Well, according to "Angels in the Outfield", angels can not affect the play of the playoffs. Of course that's just a movie, but point remains, we played uninspired for all but about 3 minutes of the game.

Re: Suisham = Momentum Killer

At least he made it close everybody. It was off by a matter of inches, not feet. Yes, the young kid wilted under the pressure. But think, it could've all been over before that after the first half. We lucked out on the Collins fumble-ruled-incompletion in the 2nd quarter, which could've put our deficit at three touchdowns. There were numerous pass rushes by SEA that could've resulted in blindside fumbles or, at the least, drive-killing sacks (not that there weren't a fair share of those; I'm just stating that by a stroke of luck (Sean?) there could've been more but weren't).

Bottom line is: how could a missed field goal worth 3 points loom as more of the deciding factor than piss-poor pass protection the first 3 quarters of the game when several potential scoring drives were snuffed out? I agree with the authors of the posts on this topic who thought not scoring a TD instead of settling for a possible field goal was more the momentum-killer. Sure, we had hope and promise, but the tale of the tape will show our blocking was pathetic and the single most momentum-killing aspect of this game. The lack of protection killed momentum for us for THREE WHOLE QUARTERS, not just 5 minutes as with the errant field goal.

I have a lot of respect for your aspiring profession. Some of my best friends are meteorologists! But I never saw that downpour you promised...so you're on my shit list now

Not saying I am or I'm not, just pointing out what a movie said and that we didn't play like we had been playing.

I do believe in the power of the mind, if those players thought he was there, then he was. Whether or not he "actually" was is moot.

I'm not going to blame Suisham for that field goal kick. It was a momentum shift, but we had 60 minutes to pound the Seahawks. We didn't do that. We only played for like 3 minutes the entire game. 57 minutes of the game was all Seahawks.

LOL. That's why I'm glad I never want to live in a place and make weather decisions for a town littered with fecal stains. It has to be the biggest eyesore of the major cities and definitely the most dismal area in history. Downpour or no downpour, we probably still lose.

It is not moot! He was there...perhaps YOU didn't see him!

So, who are you going to blame? Yes we had 60 minutes to "pound the Seahawks". But we only had 7 minutes to put them away if some one had made that field goal.

Whatever dude.
If you saw some other posts I've been making on other threads you'd understand my stance and not argue, but I understand you feel the need to lash out due to this loss. No biggie.
We as fans don't play, the players do, so yes it is moot. It only matters what they thought, not what we think.

Re: Suisham = Momentum Killer

Suisham did blow it. This thread is about what was the momentum killer and that missed kick was it.

We need a kicker that is money from under 40 yards. That missed kick is unacceptable in a playoff game. As are his short kickoffs. Based on his resume with us thus far--the Skins should bring in ample competition for his job this summer IMO...

Why are you so insistent on blaming someone?

well he certainly did kill the momentum, no doubt about that. But he did not throw 2 ints, nor did he stop running a route that had a ball coming to him, nor did he get bitched slapped all day on the oline.
