And another thing...

The line between winning and losing is SO fine in the NFL:

- Went to OT with Miami
- Eagles had a shot to tie in the last minute
- We had a shot to tie NY, first and goal with one minute to go

So when the sky is falling, remember that a few little changes could make the difference next time.

I agree with Schneed here. There is a very fine line in the NFL between winning and losing. Gibbs also stated that every game would be a fight to the finish and be very close. We are not that good of a team in all phases RIGHT NOW. Will we be? Who knows, but the potential is certainly there.

Trust me, every team will lose a couple games. It happens in the NFL. This is not the end of the world and 2-1 sure as hell beats 0-3 which we sure as hell could be right now!

I hate losing...it makes coming into work very difficult. The more they win the harder I take a loss...this week being a bye week makes it even harder to not think about the loss.

Anywho, I try not watch sports shows or read about the loss and eventually after few days I look forward to the next game.

Like some others have said, if it's an hour after the game and I'm still pissed, I just tell myself that the Washington Redskins losing a football game really has no effect on my day to day life. That helps... a little bit.

I also stay away from this place at least until the next day. Seeing the knee jerk reactions of people(some of which, I actually respect their opinions) tends to get me riled up again.

Yeah, how do you think I feel? I can't avoid it at work. I've been calling "meetings" all day just to get away from all the NFL coverage today.

Yeah same here. Except I initially flip, as seen in my posts after the game. It kinda sucks but then I get over it and realize much of my criticism is really not based on logic. If something goes wrong it tends to fall into whatever criticism I want it to.

I just love the Skins way too much and just want to remember seeing them win a Superbowl in my lifetime. That is pretty much all I want as a fan.

Re: What do you do to calm down after a loss?

I also take a skins loss way to personally. I mean I have zero control over it and when they lose like that right at the end it almost makes it so much worse. What can you do though, you know they aren't losing on purpose or losing just to piss off the fans. It is and always will be just a game and for entertainment. It is big business. I have a personal interest in them, I've grown up with them, I've been around for the superbowls, I currently own season tickets, I buy stuff from the store every year, so it definitely hurts, but remember its a game and everytime there is 1 winner and 1 loser. I can't say that the skins will win or lose the next 13 weeks but I can bet that I will be watching and hoping for a win.

Oh yea and to calm down it takes ahwile for me, but eventually its time to move on and prepare for the next opponent.

Re: What do you do to calm down after a loss?

I don't really do anything to calm down. I have to be by myself for a while and just kind of absorb everything. I really need to stay away from the board right after a loss. Some people are so freakin over the top and depressing after a loss I often consider giving up on message boards all together. It's so frustrating. People just chew and chew on stuff until they've sucked all the flavor out of it. I honestly don't see the point. Having passion for your team is one thing, but the incessant bitching wears pretty thin after a while.

The last fews days have just been sucky all together. The Skins lose in heartbreaking fashion and I have to meet with the Vet on Wednesday to discuss whether or not it's time to put my dog down. I'm completely bummed right now.

I usually just chill for like 30 minutes by myself, then watch more football and wait till the Redskins play again.

The only game I went insane after was the Seahawk playoff game, because it was the playoffs and I wouldnt see the Skins play for like 7 months

My husband wanted to watch the Steeler highlights after the game and I just screamed at him, "turn that crap off or go watch it upstairs!!!" Poor guy got his head bit off, but I couldn't take listening to a re-cap.
