Re: Top 20 party schools

Well, Matty. Mason is okay if you're 21 and can hit up the bars. Other than that, no house parties to speak of. We don't even have frat or sorority houses (can't have more than 4 girls living in the same house that aren't related. Good ol' brothel laws!) to go to. There are a lot of people around here that know people from Mason, and if you do party it's going to a close friends house and normally small.

Re: Top 20 party schools

I can't believe Wisconsin isn't on the list. Most ranking always have them number 1.

Hooskins, one of my goals this year is to go down to JMU and party. I hear they have a lot of fun. Also obviously everyone talks about their women too.

College humor scientific formula CollegeHumor 2006 Power Rankings - America's Top Colleges, According to Us
Notice how maryland has the top SAT score by a pretty large margin of all 50 that are listed and still is ranked top 15. That is because we are multi talented. I mean it lists that many places don't have bars open till 3 either. Shit is happening at maryland until 5 or 6 AM. I can go out and find drunk people falling around at 5AM. Lots of fun to do when you are really drunk.

Re: Top 20 party schools

I would have to say favorite schools to party at when I was younger were #1 SDSU (Mission Beach was a blast. Not to mention Mexico) #2 Cal Poly SLO (I had lots of friends there from HS) #3 UCSB (great for a drunk weekend with lots of hot girls). #4 UCSC (my cousin was there big parties and great concerts.) #5 HSU (the chronic and camping). Also I would have to say UC Berkley deserves an honorable mention as well as ASU.

Re: Top 20 party schools

I'm proud to see my Gators on the list at #4. Although anyone who has been to Gainesville, especially during a home football game, knows it rivals any town in the country. Go Gators dammit!!

I would definately have to agree with the last two, because I wouldnt know too much about job placement. Our librarys are pretty good, and we have tons of them. And yes, we are a jock school.

You are also right about JMU, women are hot and easy. Good stuff, just wear a rubber.

I can definitely agree that this 100% true. The fan is nothing but college students and bars. Theres so many parties on any given night in the fan. Im old and my going to a party days are behind me but I party plenty right here at home. I've still been known to have my share of miller lite. Ask Luxorreb

p.s. he's also a bartender in the fan.

Always here that exact same thing about JMU. I'll probably take a tour of VA schools during the year this year. I need to broaden my horizons. I can't really even say how good UMD is in partying because i never have gone to another college to party.

Part of the reason i haven't gone to other schools is UMD lets in and lets out school a bit later than most. That means during finals, especially in the spring, everyone else is coming back from other colleges. So all the old high school friends call up and its always the same thing,"Yooooo i haven't seen you in a long time, i should come up this weekend and party with you over there". That just means that they are bored at home. So i have to find breaks in my final exam schedule to take these people out. So basically, i don't go to other people's schools to party, they come here.

Also i think those rankings are pretty accurate. All the things listed for UMD sound about right

#2 Their Students (Almost) Never Study Academics
#16 Diverse Student Population Demographics
#6 Best College Newspaper Extracurriculars
#1 Students Pack the Stadiums Extracurriculars
#14 Party Schools Parties

Its true i never reallly did study much last year. I mean, i would study the 6-8 hours for an exam or something for my core classes and maybe 10-12 for my real classes but that isn't a big deal. I went to a pretty competitive high school and honestly i studied 2-3 times more in high school.

Our newspaper has always been good. We have a pretty good journalism school here and the newspaper is considered on of the better ones in the country.

The school, like most schools in the DC metro area, has a diverse population of students. I love that. Not just diverse in orgin but in all parts of culture, likes and dislikes, financial situations, and race. Its great

Like i said though, i haven't been anywhere else to party. Therefore, i assume everything i see at maryland is the same at most colleges. And for the most part its probably true. I mean, none of the parties i've gone to are THAT crazy. Nothing not to be expected. I mean the craziest stuff has been the few occassions where strippers were called to the parties. That is fun. 2 of the 3 parties had strippers that weren't worth watching much. I mean, they weren't the ugliest people in the world but they weren't anything to go crazy over. One at another event was pretty hot and my roommate and my friends and i were drunk so we participated in the festivities, but that is for the college stories thread. I think part of it is that there is always a party to go to. Honestly i don't think i was in lack of a party 90% of weekend nights. And that 10% i just spent at an apartment or something with 10-15 people so i guess that is still a small party. I started disliking the big parties with 400 people. That is stupid. Also i hate turning every corner and seeing someone i know. That isn't what college is about.

BUT MOST IMPORTANT> FAR MORE IMPORTANT THAT STUPID PARTIES---- NUMBER 1 IN STUDENT PACK THE STADIUMS. NUMBER f...in ONE!
Not number 14, or 10, or 5 but 1. The thing is Maryland fans go to every sporting event. I mean, our soccer games have more students at them then Duke does at their basketball games. We go to our womens bball games at the second highest rate in the country and there hasn't been a non sell out mens basketball game even when we play nobodies. We love our sports. MARYLAND FOOTBALL STARTS AGAIN IN 9 DAYS!!!!

So all you high schoolers, come to maryland
All you old people, drop work and come back to school.

You are a very wise man. Now you have to come back for the Ohio State game.
