Re: Gibbs' decision results in win

I wanted Gibbs to go for it.

We had a ton of momentum, and I thought we should seal the deal.

Hindsight is 20-20... so it looks like a great decision now, which it obviously was. Props to Gibbs and the Redskins on what will probably be the trophy win for the season.

It was a big decision and he certainly was entertaining the thought of going for it on fourth with a chance to end the game right there.

If we were to get stopped, I don't think the Saints would have had any problem getting in FG range. We would be in OT right now.

Instead, we get a week to savor an upset victory over the Saints, so lets enjoy it!
Gibbs does not own a crystal ball the way we do AFTER a play has been run, I think he makes the best decision that he thinks is right and goes with it.

I may not like all he calls he makes but I do support him, what is, is. No amount of bitching will change who he is or how he calls a game win or lose.

Re: Gibbs' decision results in win

i think people justed wanted to see gibbs go for the win right there. we were in the redzone late in the game again and didnt come out with a TD. last week v.s. the eagles we kicked the FG to make it a 2 point lead for the eagles when he probably should have gone for it. its a spur of a moment thing. as fans we want to see gibbs for win right there and put it away we were 4-9 and not going to the playoffs. now if were 9-4 they would have probably agreed with the decision to kick the FG and make the saints get a TD to win.

zzzzzzzz. who cares? we are 5-9. let's not hail gibbs a genius for kicking a FG with over 4 minutes left against a potent NO offense (giving them plenty of time to score a TD)...

zzzzzzzzzzzz

Nah, the trophy win of the season is going to be on Dec 30th when the skins take the Giants out and end their slim hopes of a wildcard birth!

I guess you're a glass half-empty kind of person? I think this win was a great sign heading into next season. It looks like things are finally headed in the right direction for this team, I was as riveted by this game I was during the playoff run last season. No zzzzzzzzzzzz for me! Great game!
