Re: Telemarketer prank
Not sure where to get a written copy of it unless it's on Tom Mabe's (the comedian) CD.

That's hilarious - I've heard that before, but it doesn't get old!

Re: Telemarketer prank
How about when they call on Sundy during the game. This happened to me this past weekend and the woman who called got told about herself. She was called every name in the book. I was amazed that she didn't hang up but stayed on the ine and listened to my whole rant.
Right after the 2nd Campbell INT phone rings. Thinking it was a buddy calling to ride my ass a little bit, I answered the phone without looking at the caller ID. Me: "What?!!!!" Lady: "May I speak to Mr.(totally mispronounced my last name)?" Me: "Who the #@%$ is this?" Lady: This is soandso calling from Whereever. I am calling to let you know about some bullshit charity that really serves no purpose. Can we have some of your money? (this is basically what i heard, its not word for word but you get the picture). Me: Do you know what day it is? Lady: Well, its Sunday sir! Me: And do you know what happens on Sunday? Lady: You go to church? Me: Who the $#@$ goes to church at 2pm? Lady: I'm sorry sir.... Me: I know you are sorry, thats why you work where you do. The fucking Redskins are playing right now and you are calling me to try and scam me out of my hard earned money you Efin piece of shit. You people sicken me. Why dont you get a effin job and stop bothering me and everybody else. Lady: We are a legitimate charity sir! Me: You are legitamately pissing me off you stupid @@3$$%%%$#@.... And you get the picture. Itb was quite a rant and I kinda felt sorry for her after I hung up, but I hate when they bother me during the game. |

Re: Telemarketer prank
The thing that gets me is I am on the do not call list as well. I always get calls from charities and from companies that come up as "unknown caller".
How do they get around that list? Is there a way to report these places to make sure they dont call me? I am so fed up with these people. I work second shift so after my kid gets on the bus, I try to get a another hour of sleep before I have to start getting ready for work and atleast 2 days a week they call and wake me up with some stupid shit. |

Re: Telemarketer prank
I love when they mess up my last name, Cannon. It's a fairly well known noun that most people have probably heard before, but for some reason it gets messed up a lot. "Hi, may I please speak to Mr. Can-non/Camen/Conner/etc?"
Idiots.

29. If I register my number on the National Do Not Call Registry, will it stop all telemarketing calls? No. Placing your number on the National Do Not Call Registry will stop most telemarketing calls, but not all. Because of limitations in the jurisdiction of the FTC and FCC, calls from or on behalf of political organizations, charities, and telephone surveyors would still be permitted, as would calls from companies with which you have an existing business relationship, or those to whom you’ve provided express agreement in writing to receive their calls. The ones that piss me off are the exisiting relationship ones. I get calls from my credit card companies all the time...

Re: Telemarketer prank
I get calls from direct tv wanting me to subscribe to a movie package or move up to the next programming tier. That really pisses me off. I know what you offer. I see commercials for the shit all the time. I love directtv but I cant stand the way they call and try to sell you shit. I know what you have, if I wanted it I would call you.

Re: Telemarketer prank
It's better to wait till they say hello, and then immediately cut them off and say "I'm not interested, remove me from your list." By law, they are required to remove you.

Re: Telemarketer prank
My favorite are the ones where you say hello...and wait for them to respond, only to have their line move to another call and hang up on you.

Re: Telemarketer prank
I also hate the automated robocallers - where you get a recording calling you. Seriously, if you are going to interrupt me at home, at least do it with a real person.
