Re: Cowboys Boys Built Through Draft
Let's not prop the Cowboys up to a championship capable team. Plus they have to win 3 more games before they even get a shot at winning the big one. With the G-Men, Saints, and ATL remaining I wouldn't even think about the playoffs.
Is what I said hate?

But what does this season do to the recent method of the Redskins i.e. Free Agency building. I started a thread earlier this year about Draft vs FA and the records were similar (Dal and Wash). It is absolutely possible that the Redskins make a few adjustments get Portis back healthy, add Depth on Defence and win the division next year.

Re: Cowboys Boys Built Through Draft
And rightfully so. These Cowboy posts have awakened something in me that had grown dormant. I was so busy hating Donovan and the Giants-friendly media that I had forgotten what being a Redskins fan was all about-hating the Cowboys. It didn't help that Parcells' press conferences are so enjoyable to watch. Or the fact that Bledsoe was basically harmless. Or that the Cowboys fans seemed rather ambivelent about their own team. But, the facts on the ground have changed. Romo is a clear and present danger. The Cowboys fans (mostly) are about one win away from becoming utterly distasteful. So, it's time to start hatin' again.

I'm all for building through the draft and supplementing with some good FA signings. But it's all for naught when the overall scheme and structure is flawed.

Re: Cowboys Boys Built Through Draft
so this is the flavor if the day? when ever someone has success in the NFL, everyone else tries to copy it. i think the free agent route can work, as long as you have a good talent evaluator. in the redskins case, they do not

The people who evaluate the talent for the team, and lets players like Pierce, Clark, Harris, Bailey,Smoot etc. is ridiculous. What has bothered me is the way the Skin's front office has disrespected players during negotiations, that players want to leave the team at all costs. |

Re: Cowboys Boys Built Through Draft
The Cowboys still have a shitty O-line and that will be exposed soon enough.
The NFL makes me sick sometimes. The boys win a couple of games and all of a sudden the doomsday defense is back. Let me know when Parcells wins a playoff game with them. |

Re: Cowboys Boys Built Through Draft
I don't think this post was about the cowgirls , more about how important the draft is . The truth is , this team has made very bad choices . We sent two 2nd rd picks for a backup lb , that is way to steep . We also gave two picks for Loyd , again he is not worth one 3rd rd pick .I think JC show a lot of ability , but two firsts a second and a 4th ? If you think building a team like this is the better way , I hope it is , but I can't see this team winning if they have another year of giving huge bonuses to avg. talent . We took SF top wr , and top DE , and they lost their best pass rusher to seattle , they have used the draft and they are looking better . If this team had lost its best wr , de and lb ,, were would we be ? The bears colts Patriots and most of the better teams win by using the draft , I hope we start using it too . If Synder does not hire a GM , he is going to keep giving us the same teams that he has . We are doing exactly what the raiders did a few years ago , it may work for one year ,,, but most of us want to have a chance to win every year. All three teams in our division have better back up DE's than our starters , thats just the truth .

Jason Campbell was a swap of first round picks. We didn't give up two first's for him.

Re: Cowboys Boys Built Through Draft
I dont really get to watch ESPN much over here, I just mostly watch the games. Is the media all on the Cowboys jockstraps' all of a sudden? If so, I think that's a bit premature.

Re: Cowboys Boys Built Through Draft
The Cowboys aren't that good. The media has been dying all year to anoint them. They will be exposed soon enough.
