Re: Anyone know what happened to Czaban on Sportsnet?

I think the truth is somewhere in the middle. Czabe is definitely an ass, and many times either on TV or on the radio he has talked tough when not interviewing anyone, and then when the time came to talk to the person he was just bashing, he went all soft on them. Seemed pretty cowardly to me.

At the same time, I do not think his question to Brunell was over the line at all. Watching the Gibbs' post-game press conference after the Eagles game was pathetic...no one had the balls to ask the question everyone wanted to know about, and that was about Brunell. I say kudos to Czabe for finally saying something to #8.

The Redskins have done a very good job "chilling" the dissident voices in the local media, from having Bram take over the Gibbs show, to pulling the Post's season tickets and finally creating their own radio network, the Danny makes it difficult for the media to cover this team objectively, and I had done as shitty a job as he has in producing a good product on the field, I would probably try to do the same thing.

Absolutely right. A first class douchebag. I'm glad the Redskins play it tough with these yokels.

I like the show better w/ czaban. I think he calls it like it is and is usually right on and isn't scared to say what he thinks good and bad.

I thought the question to Brunell was "ballsy." I felt bad for MB. I wouldn't have done it, but thats what reporters do. That ask the tough questions. You know, I like MB but sometimes as a fan i just want to hear him say, you know what i sucked today and the team wasn't any better. I think Czaban was trying to get him to say something like that.

If its true i'm sure someone high up at the skins (in the family) pulled some strings.

There's a big difference between asking tough questions and being an ass. Czaban is an ass, very simple.

He wasn't looking for an answer by asking that question. He knew it was going to irk Brunell, and that's the only reason why he asked the question.

He was acting like a bitter fan. Sorry that's just not professional to me.

I dont think you can make the assumption that he was not looking for an answer and thats the only reason he asked the question. I think he asked the question because he knew it was something most fans sitting at home were thinking.

I agree, Czab is a bitter fan as I think all redskin fans should be at this point. I think if more fans were more openly bitter and critical of the FO, all coaches, players, etc and showed it by not renewing season tickets and buying all the junk this team is good at selling maybe the organization would get the message and stop giving us a crap product on the field. They keep selling this junk because they know people will keep buying it.

I actually like Czaban and B. Mitch for their frank, in-your-face manner. In Czabe's case, he is clearly a huge and very disappointed Skins fan wearing his feelings on his ample forehead. He was lavish in his praise of the team during the great run to the playoffs last year. This team deserves to face tough questions after so many questionable offseason decisions. Jason LaConfora's blog and his excellent "State of the Redskins" column a few Sundays back captured many of the points that Czabe has been questioning all year.

Someone needs to ask tougher questions around Redskins Park. I don't care if someone gets offended. Know what's offensive? Watching these guys play every week.

You are damn right!

Too bad the owner, coaches, and some fans dont want to hurt anyone's feelings on this crummy no account team because I think that a big part of the reason why this team has no fire, nobody at the top wants the players to feel bad or uncomfortable.

Re: Anyone know what happened to Czaban on Sportsnet?

czab is a lot better than whoever replaced him. too bad you're not able to ask players questions. If mitchell asked the same thing, nothing would have happened. It's a crock that the skins can play this poorly and no one's allowed to question them about it.

Re: Anyone know what happened to Czaban on Sportsnet?

And you base that opinion on? Do you think all is well in Redskin Land? Do you think any of the coaching staff, players, trainers, scouts, etc cannot think of any "tough" questions to ask?
