I usually check out new member's profiles and saw biggirl's soon after she signed up. I was wondering if she was gonna find this thread. Guess I have my answer! lol

Hi biggirl.

Ignore the critics, congratulations on a great regular season and good luck in the playoffs.

Disrespecting the game? That is the soul of the game. No contracts or anything, just playing for the love of the sport. Guys pulling cell phones out from under goal posts are disrespecting the game.

yeah, they aren't hurting anyone, and they obviously love football, or they wouldn't bother. More power to them

I'm also interested in how one becomes involved in women's football though... since i don't know of any women's high school or college football... biggirl, how did you find out about the league? how do they run tryouts? Do some people come out to try for the team with little/no experience? Acceptance rates?

sorry, I think of heard about this before, but i didn't realize there were so many teams and people involved.

Sorry for the delay!

Hey everyone. Sorry...had some playoffs to concentrate on. We lost to Detroit (3 time defending champions) in the 3rd round of the playoffs, 20-14. It was a pretty good game, just didn't have the outcome we were hoping for.
As for how did I get involved, I have been playing flag football for years, and heard about a tryout for a women's tackle team. That was it. I am actually retiring after this season. (I'm 42). My body just won't take it another season. I play D Tackle, and my shoulders have had it. 4 years is a pretty good run I think! Now I'll be tailgating! :party The Divas are the only team in the league to sell beer at our home games!
I am a huge Skins fan, yes. Born and raised here. Gotta love 'em, and now that we have a real coach, who knows...maybe we will play 500 ball this year!
I'm gonna try to keep this page bookmarked so I can talk football in my offseason! Hope to chat with all of you again soon. (I'm #90...and yes, a big girl!)
