At times like this when our team is struggling it only strengthens my resolve and makes me root harder for them. Go Skins!!
And yes I love Joe Gibbs. (In a platonic way) |

Re: I Love Joe Gibbs!!!!!!!!!
Lady B, your monster tirade is a thing of beauty and long overdue. Joe 1 is a hero to all that were fortunate enough to be fans at that time, and rightly so. Maybe all the pissin', and moanin' is from .........fans after that era. It is a disgrace.
Joe 1 teams were about comraderie, chemistry, character. Not always SB champs but generally in the hunt. If time was left on the clock, and JT was behind center, or Ryp, you knew we were gonna' do it! Without a doubt, Joe 2 is trying to replicate that same type of LONG TERM winning program. I am impatient as the next person, and more than most. I have players I really like, but non do I hold higher than the team, and there are NO sacred cows. Joe 2, as Joe 1 does what he HONESTLY believes puts the team in the best position to win, ALWAYS WIN! NEVER GIVE UP!! I can get behind that plan as well. Am I frustrated? Well beyond that. When we are obvioously out of the playoffs, I would like to start the Jason Campbell era. (However, I don't run the team. There are resaons why Joe does.) Until then, and regardless, Joe is the Gen. Patton of the NFL world. Is he always correct? No. I believe in him. He has demonstrated he is well worth that trust, time and time, again. He will right this ship. Until then, maybe some of you backstabbers, and cry-babies can man-up and support your team. Be part of the cure, rather than the disease. Thankyou for your continued support.

And as far as him building for the long term, I just heard from his mouth on Redskins radio, that people are saying that he has a four year plan, and is building slowly. Gibbs said that isn't the case at all, and he's only concerned with winning the next game. He doesn't care about next season, until next season. |

Re: I Love Joe Gibbs!!!!!!!!!
I think you should take off your rose colored glasses. There has been an shocking amount of anti-Gibbs rhetoric (even for skins "fans"). Your paraphrase may or may not be accurate. However, I'm sure his intent is "yes, the next game gets the most immediate attention"

Re: I Love Joe Gibbs!!!!!!!!!
I was looking for a transcript, but apparently they don't archive the radio show, at least not for the public. I'm sure someone else heard it though. He said the only thing he's concerned with is winning the next game, and that he has no "four year plan". I don't think that's a huge deal anyway, because we all know Gibbs isn't here for another 11 seasons. But you'd think if his concern was winning now, he'd fix something that's obviously broken...

Re: I Love Joe Gibbs!!!!!!!!!
Honestly, I think Joe is somewhat baffled by the............how does one say it...........SUCKASSERY (thanx Matty) of the team this year. We all thought we would be laying waste to the division. Instead, we are waste. I think Joe is jumping through his ass trying to resurrect a competative team armed with the knowledge that time is almost gone for this year, and the road ahead grows more difficult. Winning is the only way to get the media and fans off his ass. I am totally confident Joe has a long term plan

I wasn't quite 10 when Gibbs won the last of his Super Bowls here in the first era. However, I was ecstatic upon his rehiring. Thusfar, I have been pretty critical of some of the things he's done. Does that meen I don't think he can coach? Not by any means. I think he's made a few mistakes. Brunell and Archuleta being the main ones so far. I have faith that Gibbs can win. However, I don't have faith in Brunell. When they lose and I think Brunell being replaced would help them play better, I'm going to say so. If everyone takes that as a shot at Gibbs, you're misinterpreting what I'm saying. I know Gibbs is a winner. I don't agree with the moves he makes all the time, but I give him the benefit of the doubt. Do I think Gibbs can coach em up? You're damn right I do. All that said...do I think this season is salvagable? I guess in theory it is. But if you ask me if it's gonna be salvaged? No. Not with the wack defense and the play of Mark Brunell. If people think that's disrespecting Gibbs, I'm not sure exactly what you would like me to say... |

For what it's worth, I don't think anyone would take issue with anything you stated. I think most would agree in content as well

Re: I Love Joe Gibbs!!!!!!!!!
Yes, your +1's that are all exactly the same are great additions to an actual football related topic...
And where is he "bashing" Washington? All he said was he didn't think the season is salvagable. Other than that, he said he likes coach Gibbs. Get off your friggin high horse. |
