Re: Heading into Jax game
The Jags D is very very strong. Very well coached, and disciplined. I dont think the reverses will do much good. I say we do what we do best and thats run right at people. Sometimes a teams supposed strenght can be their weakness. If we spread them out, and run right at them, I think we can be successful enough to put some points up. Our D is going to have to play lights out and force some turnovers. This could be the best defense we face all year. Marc is going to get hit and hit often, hopefully we can keep those dogs up front off of him long enough for some quick slants and maybe hit a deep post of fly route. WIth the Jags, they will take some risks defensively, we NEED to make them pay when they take those risks. This is going to be an AWESOME game. I dont recall being so pumped up for an AFC game.

Re: Heading into Jax game
Jax will expect the skins to play the short passing game ALA last week. This should up things up down field.
Moss should have a big game. |

Re: Heading into Jax game
In my opinion, this game will go a long way in determining the overall outcome of this season for the Redskins. This is a huuuge test for us. This D is no joke, and the offense can put points on the board, although they are fairly inconsistent at times. I look for a similar gameplan offensively, although I believe we will see ARE's first completion of the year (to Brandon Lloyd). Defensively I look for a much more aggressive gameplan to get into Leftwich's head. We must stop Fred Taylor. One good hit from ST could make his injury prone self start to think twice about things when he gets the ball. I think we stand a good chance because we are at home, but we'll need to play almost flawless in my opinion, meaning no turnovers, capitalize in the redzone, cut down on the penalties, and rough them up on D.

Re: Heading into Jax game
is it just me, or is golston, and montgomery playing very effective. and it seems like greg williams is getting alot of milage out of the wright, rumph combo.

Re: Heading into Jax game
wright and rumph are decent, but they're not starters, and rogers doesn't really look like a #1 either at this point.
golston and montgomery are good depth, but right now, that's all they are. Still, considering where they were drafted, that's pretty good. |

Re: Heading into Jax game
Dmek, I agree that Golston and Montgomery are coming along well. I think we're adopting a similiar scheme to that of Philly. Rotating the D-lineman throughout the game.
While Rumph and Wright are still nickel material, their upside is good. Rumph has probably had at least two picks so far that he couldn't hold on to. |
