Re: Skins add OL Wade
From SI 2000 draft:
A tall, muscular right tackle with very long arms and big hands. Hard worker with a fiery demeanor. Plays a little high and isn't explosive in his initial thrust, but he's a solid run blocker who keeps his legs driving. Has a good feeling for angles and hustles downfield. Sets up well in pass protection. Does a good job of controlling defenders once he gets his hands on them. Has fairly good feet, but bends at the waist a lot trying to adjust. Has some problems reacting to a good inside move. Somewhat stiff. Needs technique improvement, but has solid tools. |

Re: Skins add OL Wade
this will be a good signing when he gets into football shape. I think he got released a month or so ago. Correct me if i'm wrong. Lets hope we don't have to call on him Monday night.

Re: Skins add OL Wade
I checked out this guy's profile on NFL.com and he has a ton of starting experience something we dont have in our back-up's. If you can start an entire season in the NFL you can't be but so bad. Don't know how well he has recovered from the injury though.

Re: Skins add OL Wade
i look at this 2 ways. first, our back up lineman were god awful in the preseason, so any warm body might help. but, cut by the texans. i dont care if it is related to the cap, if the guy could block at all, they would have worked something out

Re: Skins add OL Wade
Maybe they were worried about his season ending injury last year. He was cut in July, so maybe he can help. I hope.... we need ol depth!!

Re: Skins add OL Wade
I am starting to notice a pattern of us picking up cast-aways from the texans and forty niners. Great, to me that is not a good sign! If we want to be winners then why surround ourselves losers?

Re: Skins add OL Wade
I'll take someone else's starters for our back-ups... no prob. If we stay healthy we'll be fine. It's still always possible to collapse (eagles)... can you imagine if C-Rodgers got hurt. Mabye I should post this in the Ultimate universe thread... I don't want to jinx anything.

Re: Skins add OL Wade
Andre Carter is the only starter, but every Texan and 49er we've picked up has had injury problems. Hopefully these guys will get past the bug and help us to many victories. I really like what Rumph brings if he can stay healthy. I think he already has outseated ade in the nickel role and maybe even wright once springs returns. Rumph has a great upside and is a tackling corner just like GW likes.

todd wade is literally the BEST OL available at this point, and he's a tackle, which is a position we REALLY need a backup for (walter is a decent C/G, molinaro, on the other hand, is BAD). The texans dropped him cause he'd count something insane like 4-5mill against the cap for them this year. great signing, and a huge upgrade over the guy he replaced (3rd string OG). Posey and rumph were also good depth signings. I was a bit surprised at how well those two played. |

last year prioleau was the dime DB, ade was the quarter. this year wright is the nickel and rumph just got the dime when you think about it, it all makes cents...... I'm sorry but my father was a really punny guy. |

Re: Skins add OL Wade
Someone predicted we would sign another Texan OL, Seth Wand. Hmmm.
