I love how when the Chief's cut him, their personnel director asked Gardner if he would come back if they needed him and he responded by basically saying he was too good to sit behind their 3rd/4th stringers, so no.
He's a punk. A classic example of the Nuke LaLouche syndrome...million dollar arm and a 5 cent head, except no one ever set him straight on his way into the league. In this case, all the physical skills in the world, but not smart enough to know how to focus himself. Clearly there was a trust issue between the postion coaches where they didn't believe he was committed to "do what it takes." Surprising that Marty...a "character" guy ended up drafting this guy. |
