LOL

Better lock this one down.

Drkstar - as one of the "nimwits" and "pile on'ers" who questioned the legitimacy of King's first unsupported statment and took offense at the disrepect you showed (and, apparently, continue to show) to anyone who questioned that statement, I disagree with your conclusion that an apology is not due. Be a man and apologize for the "nimwits" remark.

BTW - I understood that you trusted King's opinion more so than others on this forum (and that you probably continue to do so). It was, however, the insulting manner in which you set forth this attitude that started the flame war and notched up the discussion.

Finally, the gratuitous digs at Smoot and Matty are just unneccessary. If they had been "self-rightously" moderating this forum, you would have been banned quite some time ago. You posts were not deleted, you were allowed to continue to post and you were simply asked to tone down your insults.

No need for me to respond to Drkstar's latest comments, no time either...too busy being self-righteous. Henceforth I shall be referred to as Pope Smootsmack! Kiss my Ring!!!

As for everyone else, I would expect some of my opinions to be questioned just like I hope you expect some of yours to be questioned by me. In that same regard, we should question and debate what the paid media disseminates as well. That's the point of this forum after all isn't it? "Redskins Discussion for the Knowlegable Fan". If we all just agree with each other all the time we gain nothing from this forum and don't become any more knowlegeable than when we signed up. I don't know about the rest of you but since signing up for the warpath I feel like I've learned a lot more about the Redskins among many other things.

So yeah let's continue to debate and disagree but let's do it with tact and class.

Personally, I like the "righteous" moderation on this board.

There are so many BBS where the conversations become ridiculous and obscene arguments between people who have never or will never actually meet one another, and if they did, wouldn't say anything abrasive.

This is a well-balanced and clean BBS and I think the moderators do a fantastic job.

For Your Enlightenment – Drkstar: (I don't mean to enlighten you, hence you can call yourself Brightstar) LoL ___

1.) First of all, I have felt Mattyk72 and Smootsmack have been very reasonable and they have never been self-righteous toward anyone or you especially.

If they were self-righteous, then you, Drkstar would have been banned by now, and you will have to register back again using the name montclair or cowfardness.

2.) Drkstar, I don't know about you, but I am definitely so grateful to have Mattyk72 financing this forum using his own hard earned money.

3.) Because of Mattyk72 Warpath forum, Redskins fans from all over the world like me, BleedBurgundy and you are not isolated.

And, we can enjoy the ability to express our opinions on Redskins and we can interact with other Redskins fans. --- Those ability to express my opinions and the interactions are priceless to me.

4.) Thank God for the present of Mattyk72, Smootsmack and other moderators. --- Why? Because we need their guidance and directions to set the right tone for this forum.

Nice apology Dark star. You are equal part class and wit. You call us nitwits and then accuse us claiming intellectual superiority. You acted like an asshole in the first place and then somehow managed to be even more of an asshole in your apology. You are what you are...asshole!

I'd say, Joe! Just kidding, you're one of my favorite sparring partners!

Drkstar - I hardly doubt Pope Smootsmack and King Matty the VIII are self-righteous. They let me speak my often times outlandish type of comments and even respect them by not bashing me TOO hard! I don't want you to stop posting, just watch the hostility. We all have one common denominator in mind, and that's the Redskins. I don't feel as if you should be so blatently hostile. We all get in heated arguments and say things we don't mean, but I feel if I've offended anyone I try to make it up to them if possible.

Not saying you should apologize, but your posts are normally well thought out and a good read, I just wish you could try to lose the hostility.

Yea, Daseal has a good point. If the mods were all bad, Daseal would be ripped on constantly. Who else has the nads to say they love(d) Spurrier. It would be boring if thier wasn't any differences here. And as stated in a previous post, you learn a lot more when you see other fans point of view. I don't know squat compared to most people on this board, so I love being educated on so many things.

jeeze Drkstar and his ilk are like school on saturday ... they defend thier right to express an oppinion in however obnoxious way they want then when the counter argument is put across they stick thier hands over thier ears and retreat into thier caves..

Thing is peter king gets paid alot of money to check what he says at least has a touch ofthe truth ... like has been said though the most insulting thing is he thought Skins faithful would be rattled by unsubstantuated rumours...

If you cannot say anything nice y'know....

Bedlam - he get's paid to try to break a story first. Being fans we want the inside scoop ASAP. He tries to do that, and when you go that route, you will fail from time to time.

And not only that, Kingisn't so much a reporter in the MMQB as a columnist. He's there putting is opinion out. Hell if someone came to me personally and said that Sean Taylor didn't like the Skins and he had a credible reason, I would have believed it. What with dropping his agent after the draft,(a move I have never heard of for a top 5 pick), I thought something was odd didn't you.

He heard a tip it must have made sense and he put it out there. If you notice King started it, "I think..."

And for Defensewins the retraction is in the exact spot the original story was I don't think he buried it near the bottom at all.

True. There is a signifigant difference between a journalist and a columnist. King gets paid to wine about NJ softball and starbusts. We are perhaps holding him to too high a standard.

Sorry I missed this, I was at AC all weekend for a state bowling tournament, all I have to say is kudos to all here who were smart enough to use your head's and rationalize the king article for what it was, NONESENSE! Yes, just because we don't get paid for our knowledge of football, or the skin's, doesn't mean the guy who landed a paying job to write about such thing's is wiser, sound's like drkstar didn't like the call, so he's taking his ball and he's leaving!
