Re: Jimmy Smith to Retire

i always thought he was one of the more underrated players in the league. It's sad to see him go.

No way he gets in before Art Monk. Once Art gets in, i'm sure he'll get in.I can't wait to see what great things Peter King says about Smith, and how he should be a HOF'er and such.

I don't know his numbers but considering how underrated he is, I doubt anyone will be voting for him. When it comes to voting or judging, the more overrated the better.

funny, last night on NFL Live (ESPN) the subject of Smith and the Hall came up. What's the guy, I forget his name, anyway...he was on with Tre and Merrill Hodge, and he basically said no one else get's in before Monk! He said emphatically he's blown away that Monk isn't in yet. Tre Wingo chimed in and said, "It makes you wonder sometimes"....

I just liked how the segment was about Jimmy Smith at first, but the subject of Art Monk, along with highlights, started to take over the conversation.

Re: Jimmy Smith to Retire

There are a lot of guys who should be in the hall but aren't and Monk tops the list. But we're beating a dead horse. In 2-3 years, a lot of great players will be eligible for the hall, so I hope for his sake he goes in one of the next two years.

Jimmy Smith is a HOFer. First Ballot? I don't know.
