Re: Texans | R. Bush not a lock to be No. 1 draft pick?
houston has much greater needs than bush.they should look to going in th e15-20 range and trying to stockpile as many picks as possible.d'brick should be their man after carr almost got killed last year.if they want to stay top 10,they can probably get him around 4(maybe trading with the jets, lord knows they would take bush)

Yup, in the top five, the Jets are the only team who really has a huge need at RB. I could see him going to the 9ers honestly if the Jets let him slip.

Re: Texans | R. Bush not a lock to be No. 1 draft pick?
I hear alot of people say take the best possible player available in the draft. Lets say we had the number one draft spot would we draft Reggie. He would cost alot of $ and we already have Portis and El who are proven players in the NFL. I just don't understand the concept of taken the best player even though there is not a need at the time and wasting a pick and the $ on an unproven player when there is not a need.

it might just be smoke, but the fact is the texanss having been talking contract with mario williams and haven't even budged on trying to sign reggie.
If they were really intent on signing bush, they could have done like the bengals did with palmer and finished his contract by already. |

Davis is a decent RB/WR type and mathis is a PB return man, so I'd agree their needs are elsewhere. |

Re: Texans | R. Bush not a lock to be No. 1 draft pick?
Could be, but LT was on a TCU team with nowhere NEAR the talent that Bush had around him. Talk about having the passing game open up the running game. In addition to that he had a back like White to spell him when he needed it.
Deangelo Williams will be the LT back of this draft class. I can also see Maroney doing well if he replaces Edge in Indy.

Re: Texans | R. Bush not a lock to be No. 1 draft pick?
Did the Texans extend Carr's contract this offseason? Are they locked into him as their guy still or might they find some competition for him with the No. 1 pick?
With the #1 overall pick, the Houston Texans select Omar Jacobs

He'll BE the guy when they keep him upright. That's what if I were Carr, I'd be BEGGING them to trade the Jets for their pick and get Brick.

I wish they'd get on with signing LaVar. I still have a feeling he's going to the Giants.
