Ya think Pope will be there at 53? And that's the knock on Stovall, plus he's not great at seperation. That's until last season. Maybe he'll end up in Philly. He's from that area.
honestly? no. but if he did fall and we took stovall instead, that'd be an act of war.

whats funny is that it seems like there is only one "cant miss" WR from every draft. pretty mcuh the pundits are always like "well he has THIS positive but THIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIS many negatives"

garbage

We'll have a much better idea of who we draft in a few weeks, after we sign FAs and the draft board becomes more clear (after players hold workouts on their home turf).

Agreed, but unless we re-sign Harris and another CB, a CB will be drafted with the first pick!

It's hard to say, but I think Cooley will become more of a true TE, and Sellars will play the FB/HB role in Saunders system.

Who knows, I could be completely wrong.
No, I think you're exactly right. Of course, a lot of it depends on how much Al Saunders' needs will factor in with this draft. If he convinces Gibbs that a true tight end is absolutely vital to his offense, then you could see it, but with Cooley already here, I doubt that will be the case.

That's the impression I get too. It always seems like the negatives far outweigh the positives.

Maybe I should read the negatives first?

yeah thats why i said in another thread to maybe just get a WR after theyre developed or close to developing. this year there arent a huge amount of good WR FAs but last year there was a good crop for a decent price. i say let someone else deal with the headache.

It seems seems imperative that we draft a CB early.

I think offensive line depth is pretty important now.

Definately. However we're in luck b/c we got two things working for us:

1. The draft is deep at the interior line positions
2. Joe Bugel is our O-Line Coach.

at our first pick the #2 OG should be there and some decent (not great) tackles will be left, as well as 2 of the top 3 centers.

Good Tackles are rarely available past the first round (Yes Jansen is one the Exceptions). By the same token I think a lot of 1st round tackles are taken as reach picks. Pro Bowl quality G's on the other hand can be found all over the draft.

still not as bad as QBs, some are taken at #1 as reach picks (like alex smith :P).

Alex Smith was not a reach. He scored high on the Wonderlic. Awww who am I kidding Ryan Leaf, Tim Couch, JP Losman, Akili Smith, and Kyle Boller make a better case as reaches then Marc Colombo, that Bodybuilder from the Packers, and Andre Johnson (the tackle from Penn State).
