Re: Best Safety in the League???
Depends on what year you ask the question. What was it 3 years ago there was the whole Ray Lewis and Brian Urlacher debate? Then 2 years ago it was no question that Ray Lewis was the best. Now one year later we're back to Urlacher being the man and asking what the hell happened to Ray Ray. Basically the question you've asked is a what have you done for me lately question in which your answer is Ed Reed. No disrespect to Taylor who got snubbed at the Pro Bowl.

Ask yourself this...Of all the safeties in the league, who would you rather have playing for us? Your lying to yourself if you say anyone other than Sean Taylor. This guy puts fear in opponents and teams make it a priority to keep balls out of his area. |

Re: Best Safety in the League???
Ed Reed is a vicious pack of dynamite. ST is younger so he has more growth potential (off the field, that's another subject) but if I had to put a SB team together right now and I have a one year window Ed Reed would be an automatic selection.

Re: Best Safety in the League???
I think in 2 years Taylor is regarded as hands down the best safety in all of football, and that includes Reed.

No one hits like Taylor. Like Wilbon said, he is the baddest man on the field. |

Re: Best Safety in the League???
Taylor is an amazing athlete. Right now he isn't the best at the safety position Ed Reed still holds that honor even though he had a bad year. I'd take Bob Sanders also. That dude is nasty to lays the wood.

Re: Best Safety in the League???
Ed Reed is who he is because of Ray Lewis. If he went to any other team in the league he would be a very good safety but not where he is today. I couldn't imagine what ST would be like if Ray Ray took him under his wing like he did Ed.

Re: Best Safety in the League???
There is no one I would trade Taylor for. Even with his unpredictability off the field he is the straw that stirs our defensive drink. He is a Monster.

Re: Best Safety in the League???
i tried to take my skins tinted glasses off, but still say sean taylor he has all the physical tools you would ask for in a safty then he loves to just punish whoever has the ball. i still watch that highlight video from his rookie season and chuckle watching him abuse owens, moss, & keyshawn. that being said john lynch is in my top 3
