plaxico burress came up huge for the giants. is that what someone would get from bryant? or from robinson? that is why wideouts are so risky

i am not being unfairly critical but i do think that in retrospect the front office really misjudged the receiver corps this year-- and the offense paid for it the last portion of the season. even before he went down, patten was far from an impact player. he is no legitimate number 2. they also grossly misjudged what jacobs was capable of accomplishing. they thought thrash would be able to step up to the number 2 slot if needed. they realized they had little in mccants, but by then it was too late.

i do not think they will make the same mistake again this offseason, but there is no getting around the fact that they assembled an inadequate receiver corps this year.

I agree, Randle-El would give us a guy who could be a returner and receiver and insurance in case Moss went down. Patten is more of a fast route runner, but I bet that Randle-El could run the screen effectively ala Moss.

Jurevicius would be a good add also, but I think Thrash can fill the role of 4th receiver just fine.

Moss, Patten, Randle-El, Cooley, Portis... I think those are enough options for the QB.

bryant is a POS. he threw a towell in parcells face, we dont need that attitude here, thats why CLE AND DAL made the trade of morgan and bryant

yup.. but he might be another henry ellard. give the team a couple of solid years... still, someone like isaac bruce, or jimmy smith might be out there and fit the same mold and give the team a bit more time.

i am not saying that is the way the team should go, only that there are alternatives out there besides breaking the bank for someone like wayne.

Sorry that the text is pushing together.

I am not sure why you listed DT's. I think we have other greater needs than getting another DT. Plus I like the one's we have. Even back up Killings is adequate if we resign him.

Priority by positions I would to see Redskins upgrade this offseason:

1) WR - Just a #2 guy, not expensive FA.
2) Pass rush DE - doesn't need to be a fulltime expensive DE, just a pass rush situational substitution guy.
3) SS - Ryan Clark is too small. Alstot just ran him over in TB playoff game.
4) CB - Springs and Harris are getting old.
5) OG - Replace back up Ray Brown #3 guard.

No need for an expensive big name FA for these spots. Just solid players. Keep our salary cap in a safe situation, so we dont get in any bad situation where we have cut guys down the road just to get under the cap.

Boy, McCardell is tempting. He's a super-smart guy, disciplined and tough. Parcells singled him out for praise after the first game of the year. But, he's got to be 35 or 36 now right?

Can somebody tell me why we shouldn't go after Reggie Wayne with the full Joe Gibbs on Redskins 1 treatment? I think Moss Wayne Patten Cooley Portis puts us in the Super Bowl.

money and cap space. his contract would be so big that we'd have to release people in the next 2-3 years due in large part to the contract he'd get (moss's contract isn't big compared to his results, so if S moss keeps pace his contract will actually be drastically undervalued). We can get someone like KR + a couple other mid tier picks for far less and have better depth and a much better cap picture without a gigantic falloff in stats (comparing 2-3 new WRs to wayne only).

I think resigning Killings is a big deal because the guy did a great job pushing the interior of the line back on limited action plus his name is Killings. I mean seriously has there ever been a better name for a defensive player ever?!

killings did step up the latter part of the season. both boschetti and aki jones faded and spent most of the latter part of the year onthe inactive list. same with nic clemons. not sure if theses guys are going to step up or if they have maxed out and need to be replaced. we did so well with griffin that getting clancy fromthe giants might be another terrific signing. i expect noble will retire so it means we need a 4th interior lineman from somewhere to fill out the rotation. could be the draft or free agency

clemons couldn't stay with his assignments (tried being superman) and so he got pulled. aki barely made the roster to begin with... I didn't really like boschetti much either, not that he was horrible, but without C griff and big joe, the line stunk. If the next man up can't play well enough to go unnoticed for at least 3-4 plays then he shouldn't be taking the field. are we talking about the same clemons? he was used primarily as a third down pass rusher. seemed to be really getting better at it before he went out. i love his potential. his brother nic, is much more of a project. as i said, both boschetti and aki are going to have to prove they belong next year. competition will be good for the team

nic is the one that got pulled, chris is a great sub and definately has a spot on the team next year. So no, apparently we weren't talking about the same one, but you were talking about D linemen (and specifically mentioned nic clemons by name) and nic is a DE, chris is an OLB.
