Re: Steeler Fans
I know quite a few Steeler fans. I hang out with them every week at my favorite Sports Bars. Steeler football is very much like Redskin football and I have a high degree of respect and appreciation of how they approach the game. I'm a die-hard Redskin fan but I found myself routing very hard for the Steelers to upset the Colts, especially after the officials attempted to take the game away.

Re: Steeler Fans
I remember back around the 80's when your team was out of the playoff picture you cheered any team from your division and then would cheer the team from your conference next. Times have changed and you see very little of fans cheering others in their division unless its to help out your team.

Re: Steeler Fans
I'm not that old and it was very common for fans to cheer for other teams in their div once they where out of the playoff picture. It was one of those thing like we have the toughest division and we fight hard within our division but you out side folks best leave us alone.

Re: Steeler Fans
A true Redskins fan only wants what's best for the Redskins. We want the world to think we play in the toughest division, so there's a certain amount of pride in knowing that our NFC East competitors are good.
But pulling for the Cowboys? The Iggles? The Giants? NEVER. You can take pride in the division, because we're part of that identity. But that's something you do AFTER the season. While games are still being played, you can't jump out of your chair and high-five your buddy when Brian Westbrook or Tikki Barber breaks free for a TD. THAT AIN'T RIGHT!! The Steelers are a good team for Skins fans to cheer for. They are geographically close; Pittsburgh has always been a maligned city (like DC); historically they play NFC-style ball; they have great football tradition. The few Steelers fans I know are good people.

Re: Steeler Fans
I cheered for the Panthers against the Giants this year as if I was born in downtown Charlotte. The only NFC East team I didn't really mind was Arizona because they were so harmless, but they've been shipped out west.
Any week in the NFL my #2, 3, and 4 favorite team is whoever is playing Dallas, Philly, and New York, in that order. |

Re: Steeler Fans
Some Pittsburg fan had a heart attack when bettis fumbled. An actual heart attack. He lived and says he is fine because the steelers won.
Last year there was that steeler fan that had his lifeless body in a chair in his steelers gear and was watching a TV showing the greatest steeler plays when people were comming in to see him They are true fans but oh so annoying. |

Re: Steeler Fans
I dont care about there fans I am pulling for them because Bettis is a class guy and deserves a ring. Cowher is a tough nose coach and plays old school football. Big Ben is a good quarterback and will have a great career. I just like the way they play.

Re: Steeler Fans
steelers team and organization should be the one that the skins should follow
continuity and structure is stable win or loss, and they keep on fighting they deserve to win another title since they are frustrated 3 years past |

Re: Steeler Fans
the steelers fans i know are knowledgable and very loyal. They will never love another team, kinda like skins fans. They appreciate good football discussion. I will be rooting for them to win the S.B. because i think Cowher deserves it for all the years he's been there. Plus I think it would be a great way for Bettis to end his career, in his hometown of Detroit. That and i don't want Denver to win, they have Champ and our first round draft pick, which i heard will be
#22.
