Exactly. If I was spit on, the first thing I'd do is wipe my face; as would anybody, I assume. But Pittman didn't. You also don't see ST wind up and spit. Also, was ST's mouth guard still in? It's hard to spit w/ your mouth guard in. Not impossible but hard.

I'm sure Mike Pereira will discuss this play on the NFL Network sometime this week. He always backs the refs very hard, but they usually have camera angles that we don't see on the networks.

Like i said southpaw if someone is to spit at or on you are you gonna have a reaction to that before you throw a punch...i know i would...a flinch or something....he didnt spit on him and greg even asked him and he said he didnt and greg believes him.. also this happen against cincy last year and they investigated that and overturned that.

You don't spit at a man's face. Doing that could get you killed in some areas. Taylor f**ed up big time and deserved to be tossed if he spat. What a moron!

man everyone knows about romanowski and this will follow him his entire career.

greg represented to the fullest for Taylor... williams made sure to drop the extra compliments, showing most people who don't know taylor what kind of a person he his. taylor has done enough on the field (game day and practice) to earn GW's trust- and that counts for something.

Taylor will not be suspended. I think it was ridiculous that they ejected him in the first place, whether he actually spat or not.

I don't want to hear this crap about this kind of thing being "classless". That's p*ssy talk if you ask me. NFL football is dirty. At the bottom of piles, guys jam their thumbs up the anuses of the ball carrier. There is eye gouging, scratching, and guys purposely twist the feet of those who are known to have sprained ankles.

The NFL is an image concious league, and that is no doubt why they came down so hard on Bill Romanowski when he spit; because his spit was so blatantly visible on national TV. But I ask you, did anyone actually see Sean Taylor spit on the replay? I sure can't.

And that's why he won't be suspended. The NFL would consider suspending him if it was a visibly dispicable Romanowski-style incident, but the truth is nobody can tell.

I am personally with Brud, if guys spit, SO F*CKING WHAT. It's the NFL, it's not high school. So it's gross, who cares?! I can take it. The fact that Taylor was ejected doesn't bother me so much, because I can see a ref ejecting a player for spitting for the game. But I can't see suspending someone for that. It's not like he pulled a Marcus Vick and stepped on his leg, it's SPIT for god's sakes, it doesn't hurt. Pittman will get over it!

But in the end, I don't care if Taylor got ejected, because we didnt' lose. There's no way the NFL will suspend him, so don't worry about it.

Re: The Spitting Ejection

PS If anyone wants to try to come down on Sean Taylor for his "behavior" problems on or off the field, you're going to have to create a seperate thread just for me, because I'm going to write so many posts in his defense you'll want to ban me from this site.

Sean Taylor is part of the very heart and soul of our team. Not only has his tremendous play been a reason we're even in the playoffs, but he's also a motivator for his teammates; without Sean Taylor we'd be sitting at home like the Dallas Cowboys.

Re: The Spitting Ejection

Look guys the ref was right there and Carey is a good ref, one of the best. Sean has a history of spitting and I for one think he totally did it and not by accident. Some guys loose their head in the heat of the moment. Looks looks like Sean is right up there with Roberto Alomar. I doubt he will be suspended by the league and by early news footage Gregg says he believes him. I doubt the video footage will show anything but with a good ref right there, I believe he made the call because saw what Sean had done. Chris Mortensen says he doubts the league would suspend him but might fine him.

Re: The Spitting Ejection

Whether we saw it or not isn't the point, the ref was RIGHT there so he obviously saw something.

I could see Taylor's head bob just a bit and then Pittman swings at him, so it's apparent that something happened.

ST is a meathead, he's the kind of guy you've gotta take the good with the bad.
