Exactly. In this league now, injuries are a part of it, and games don't get put on hold or count less in the stats. If the media wants to bash you, they will anyway, and our schedule will be tough enough with out having to beat every team at full strength at every game. They aren't not going to take joy in beating us if we lose a playmaker. And this year, maybe, those will be the wins that get us the division, or wildcard.

It's also no surprise. He's scary when on the field, but that's the thing...he's been injured a lot in his career. He still has not played a full season and has played through a lot of injuries.

12 weeks is probably best case assuming there's no setbacks. He's probably not going to be full speed to start the season.

Victor Cruz outplayed him last season anyway. They lost Manningham, but they're fine at WR.

Besides, this might get Devin Thomas on the field.

Well for one I don't feel sorry for them. Karma is a bitch. In regards to Nicks foot, It has always seemed to me that when a players has some form of foot injury they never seem to be back on the field right away. Yea the doctor will say 6wks 8wks whatever but it always seems like they turn out to be nagging recovery and don't fully heal for almost a year. In some cases longer depending on how many times the player irritates the situation by trying to come back too soon.

Look at the bright side. We played them at the end of the season with players out due to injuries and drug penalties..... and beat them. Injuries happen. Teams can't use that as an excuse since they are supposed to be able to have decent backups to fill in.

I hate that argument from the Giants' fans. They were "injured" when we whipped them twice.

So you were handicapped by injurues? We were handicapped by Rex Grossman! We still walloped your butts TWICE.

I think Devin moved on to the bears if I remember right.

My gut feeling is that this is an old school "super bowl hangover" year for your boys & they struggle w/bad luck & uninspired play to about a 7-9 record.

Problem is, every time since post Tuna that I've felt that way about them, they end up winning, beating us & making the playoffs.

Re: Tough break for the Giants

The Giants are solid at WR, even with the loss of Mario Manningham. Akeem Nicks's injury should be fully healed by the time the preseason begins let alone the regular season. Whether he plays or not really doesn't matter. We did a pretty solid job against him in both games against the NYG last season, not mentioning that 68 yard bomb he caught over our secondary in week 1.

Handicapped by I thought one starting OL (Brown) who was injured early in the season, an one OL (TW) and one TE (Davis) for drug penalties. Not to mention we had a bad Safety group so our secondary was not up to par. A starting DL (Jarvis Jenkins) who was out all season. etc. etc. They have no excuses. Injuries are a part of the game. The team who can stay the healthiest and the team who has the better backups to step up and keep the team from falling off talent wise will win.
