Re: Pierce gone, Barrow Cut

What do youll think about going after Pollard, I think our defense it ok, make some minor changes, i think williams can put anyone in there at MLB if they keep blitzing from all over. I think its safe to go after Patten, hes a vet, team player, and can teach the young guys mostly jacobs and hopefully mike williams how to get better. With jansen coming back, samuels, thomas and now rabach Im thinking we will see more 64 yd runs from Portis like his first touch as a skin. Give ramsey patten and moss and williams and im telling you gibbs will let it fly, something everyone has been wanting

Re: Pierce gone, Barrow Cut

I can't believe they let Pierce get away, and to an NFC East team no less. I know it will come back to haunt us. We give Samuels (who hasn't been that great the last two seasons) the highest signing bonus in Redskins history, but let Pierce go to the Giants!!! Pierce led the team in tackles last season and even according to Coach Williams, was calling the plays before Coach finished signaling them in. He will definitely be missed.
Why would we bring in another LB with a history of injuries when we brought in Barrow last year and he missed the entire season!!! We need someone that will be there all year. If they've actually cut Barrow, I'm sure they do have someone already in mind (I sure hope so!!!)
So much for buying my new Pierce jersey!!!!!!!!!

If Patten signs and we can keep coles or get moss, I think we would be set, Patten definitely has better hands then Gardner

IN COACH WILLIAMS I TRUST!
In his defense, I have heard that he gave the Skins' an equal chance to match the Giants offer, and we declined. I think we declined in our best interests financially, and he took the pay-day he desrved. No hard feelings towards him for that, he was a man of his word and gave us a chance.

Re: Pierce gone, Barrow Cut

If we did cut Barrow (and CC you can correct me on this if I'm wrong) I was under the understanding that we save very little cap wise. I dont see why we wouldn keep him around to try out and see what happened. Given his track record; he could have been a very good player if he stayed around and got healthy. I wasent holding my breath for him to magically heal, but if we dont save alot of Cap, I think we should have just hung on to him to see what happens.

Re: Mike Barrow

I'm pretty sure that was just speculation. I think they're planning on keeping him for now. Maybe they'd think about cutting him if they signed another MLB, but I can't see them cutting him without a replacement in hand.

Re: Pierce gone, Barrow Cut rumor (merged)

mabye barrow is going to be a june 1st cut guy. Im not sure of his cap ramifications for cutting him. If we cut him, talk about dead cap space. Never even played a down

Re: Pierce gone, Barrow Cut rumor (merged)

It doesn't make much sense to cut him now unless they're convinced he's not going to ever make it back to 100%.

Re: Pierce gone, Barrow Cut rumor (merged)

I hope he is healthy and starts for us. Hearing on the radio that he was out though made me wonder about his health. Mabye it was just a rumor, we cant find any info on him anywhere. If hes healthy then there was no reason to resign pierce for that type of money
