I don't know. Learning the playbook this late into camp......Just seems like he won't catch on in time.

That makes no sense, why bring in a kicker now? Especially after you just cut a kicker who had a better yr last yr than Cundiff

Is that a financial decision or do they honestly think he will get healthy enough to contribute? Any chance it is a face saving move by Shanny?

** WaPo just reported he had surgery, out 4-6 weeks.. ** Ugh.

I'm not dead but this team is dead to me...but now that McCloughan is here they may have new life!

Jay Gruden = Zorny McSpurrier
Kirk Cousins = Next Grossman

I don't think Shanny thinks that way at all. He's famous for cutting bait and moving on.

Re: Official Redskins First Cuts Thread

While I doubt we bring in Cundiff (runs against Shanny trend of going cheaper and younger) I think he will be an upgrade if we do. Gano worries me out there.

You know its time to retire when you can't take the job from Gano.

Re: Official Redskins First Cuts Thread

Gano has a VERY strong leg. He can send every kickoff through the endzone and hit 59-yard FGs. His only problem was accuracy, more on the make-able kicks.

If he has sorted that problem out, he'll be one of the top kickers in the league and better yet, could be here for 15 years since he started here as a rookie. He could be our own Morton Anderson. Knowing you'll have a good kicker on your roster for over a decade is very valuable. We haven't had a good kicker stay around for a few years since Lohmiller and he didn't stay long.

I hope Gano has really improved and will be here for a long time. He's beat out Shayne Graham (who was horrible in preseason) and Neil Rackers in consecutive years. Those are, or at least were big-name kickers.
