Re: Now I Understand Why People Act Suicidal In GameDay Threads
I like the blowouts for sure, but the close, dramatic ones are a bit more memorable for me because:
- The look on the faces of Cowboys fans. Knowing that they went from happy and assured of a win to agony in a matter of seconds is so great. - It feels like a prize fight, where the Redskins are getting beat up and are on the ropes, but they then summon enough gumption for one last charge and put their rival on the canvas right at the bell. Feels like you had to earn it, feels more satisfying. I do like blowouts too though. Probably because they're rare for us. I think the author's point is that if you're kicking ass every single week, it starts to get taken for granted by fans. We sit here and say "yeah well I'd never take it for granted." Actually we probably all would at some subconscious level. When the Pats went 16-0 and were blowing people out every week, they had already won a few Super Bowls, and New England fans weren't intense at all. Throw in recent success by the Red Sox, and I think you had a fan base too used to winning. That's why their stadium isn't intimidating at all. We're more into it and more of a rabid fan base because A) we're starving for wins and B) we're awesome.

you only like seeing blowouts because you're not used to it...that's why its good to be down, you enjoy the blowouts so much because u are not used to them
