Re: Tony Dungy's son found dead

What an absolute tragedy. My prayers are definitely with the Dungys. Now Tony Dungy has to do what's best for his family even if that means sitting out the rest of the season. If the Colts go on to lose their next two games and get bounced out in their first playoff game well then....so what? The Colts, or any team for that matter, are so irrelevant compared to this. Sad, very sad.

I heard it was probably a suicide - that is sooo horrible! Definitely makes all our petty football issues seem insignificant... Even more tragic considering what was probably Dungy's best year ever is now without a doubt his worst. Horrible...

Re: Tony Dungy's son found dead

Losing a child, to me would be unrecoverable! Making it worse, apparently it was a suicide. On some level FOREVER, he and his family will (falsely) carry the burden "they should have done something to stop it". Truly a tragedy of the worst kind! He and his family go to the top of my prayer list

Re: Tony Dungy's son found dead

Lord,

I come before you right now in the mighty, precious name of Jesus!

Lord, I pray for the Dungy family, that out of this situation, their faith in you would indeed be strengthend, souls saved from hell, lives changed, and hearts healed!

Lord, I pray for the Indianapolis Colts, the NFL players, and the friends and associates of young Dungy. I pray that they would see you, even in the midst of this very tragedy.

Most of all, Lord,

I thank you for being there for us, as our comfort and our strength. Even in our very time of need. I thank you for your Blessed Holy Spirit, which does bring comfort.

For you too Lord, do truly know what it is to lose a Son. I too was lost, but now I am found!

Thank you Lord!
For it is in Jesus mighty name, I pray.

Amen!

that is what really scares me, there is no way that Tony is not going to blame himself if that is the case, I REALLY HOPE, it wasn't a suicide or drugs ...

Re: Tony Dungy's son found dead

Guys, I a have a very close friend that works for the Colts and I e-mailed her this morning when I read the news. Just terriblel!!! I hope there was no foul play involved. I am sure we will learn more as the hours pass today. The media is probably not at liberty to say much until Tony and his family get there.

Re: Tony Dungy's son found dead

this might make you guys feel "a little" better ... excerpt from this article (link below) , by the way what a man Tony Dungy must be ...

“The routine will be exactly as if Tony was here,” he said. “We have a great role model in Tony, and we will emulate our leader

Polian said he had spoken several times with Dungy today and said the stricken father was holding up well.

“He’s Tony – he’s the most amazing person in the world. He’s a rock, and as much as is humanly possible, he’s doing OK.”

What an awful thing to occur, to one of the nicest guys in the NFL, shooot in general. How do you deal with something like that? My prayers certainly go out to him and his family

Re: Tony Dungy's son found dead

Anyone thinking that this was to derail IND from going undefeated?
