We probably couldn't afford it. Ramsey will get $20M avg. and $25M of it guaranteed, over 2 years. As some have said, with an ownership change likely, guaranteed deals like that probably won't be on the table. And his preferred location was Miami anyway.

I agree target Bradberry, should be reasonable on contract, or draft someone like Porter in the 1st round. Secondary should be sound, then FA/draft OL and LB.

I'm not sold on this. You don't pay a guy that kind of money for 1 good year out of 5. It's not smart. If he plays like he did last year, it'll be a value, but his history says otherwise.

I agree.

I like the player but don't like the deal. Would've preferred 2 years on the franchise tag. Hope I'm wrong but I suspect last year was the best we'll ever see from Payne.

Maybe in the way of sacks but 11 is a lot for a DT. Trenches are where its won and lost.

you do have the question of who on that line is making whom better... did he get 11 sacks because allen and others ate the double teams? etc

obviously in a way everyone is helping everyone to some degree.

1 great year and 4 very good ones. It's not like he came out of nowhere last year, he's been ascending since he was a rookie.

I’m surprised they reached a deal but glad they did!

Re: Commanders Free Agency Expectations

Agreed, as its the kind of commitment I wouldn't expect from Snyder at this juncture. Or maybe it helps with the sale, helping retain assets?

Re: Commanders Free Agency Expectations

I wonder if this means signing Chase’s 5th year option is less likely. We have a lot of $ tied up in this line.

Re: Commanders Free Agency Expectations

Thats a bigger deal than I would have expected, would almost certainly signal the end of one of Sweat or Young. Good thing to get it done before the other FA DTs get their new deals though.
