Agreed. Read this post from Harris: https://twitter.com/Commanders/statu...83012179435570

First time I heard the ownership acknowledge there was a problem with the product. I wasn't buying what Punch was believing that next year would be better, but at least now I know we have a shot at a better defensive coordinator next year. Still not sold RR isn't back until I hear it or ownership suggests his performance needs to improve or else. But at least this is the third step in the right direction.

The receptionist at Redskins Park couldn't do any worse.

Ron can take over as DC and designate someone else to handle time outs and challenge flags.

Kendall Fuller as Player DB Coach.

Either Rivera or ST coach will take over D duties. Would like to see coach Z or RK myself.

Re: Del Rio Fired

It doesn’t matter. This is the token firing everyone wanted. Whoever steps in could have us playing like the 85 Bears and the season is over. This should have been done weeks ago if it were to matter for this season. Either way it is on the checklist of things to get done.

Re: Del Rio Fired

This means at a minimum, we will have a new DC next year. Definitely a checklist item.

Exactly. It has been obvious for weeks (years imo) that this staff was a detriment. At this point , now or in January is the exact same thing. But like I said. One step gone and many more to go so it is still progress. Timing is just meaningless.

Not to me! It might save me from having another stroke.

You need to think of it as Christmas as a child. Every gift has a purpose. You start with a big one (new owner), then as other people open gifts you get a small one (extra draft picks), just when the agony is getting to much as there is a lull in action you get another small one (firing of the inept DC). Eventually you will get the thing you wanted for Christmas a rebuild.

Re: Del Rio Fired

2 things that stand out this season as problem areas, OL and CB’s. Harris left as CB’s coach, Matkos was fired as OL coach, both replaced by 1st time coordinators. Rivera is ultimately in charge of those decisions and should be held accountable

Trust me B-More it has been Christmas since Dan left. Even after our 2 and 0 start I was preaching patience and looking forward to 2024. I knew all along this season was going to be a disaster.

In this case though it is like we started opening gifts and I got a stocking stuffer. Had this happened four weeks ago id have considered it an actual present.
