Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
We need to lose some more games, picking too low to get the elite LT's. Rivera should be able to take care of that for us. But Bowers is a fucking beast.

I can't see a scenario where: Howell plays lights out, the team continues to lose, the current coaching staff gets fired, and a new coach is willing to bet on Howell as a starting QB.

Didn’t that scenario just happen? Lol. I mean they haven’t gotten fired yet but Howell played lights out and we continued to lose. Now that Sweat and Young are gone Howell could certainly play lights out and our defense is going to be giving up 40 a game. I think we are literally staring straight down the barrel of that exact scenario. |

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
I’m gonna pull for Sam and hopefully he will be the franchise QB we have been searching for …

I want the PSU or ND OT, but they are always already gone by our pick.

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
I gotta say - we're coming off a performance where a Commies qb threw for almost 400 yards and 4 td's in a loss and there are numerous quality comments saying qb will be the first pick next year - ignoring that we're most likely to end up around the middle of the first round where we're always at under Ron.
It's insane to me that some people here have given up on Howell 9 games into his pro career. It took Kirk Cousins at minimum half a season in his 4th? year before shit clicked and he led the greatest comeback in Redskins history. Next coaching staff better go BPA in the first round, this team has way too many holes to think otherwise.

My top 3 choices would be Drake Maye, Olu Fashanu, and Joe Alt.

If Howells plays well, but the team is still losing, and Rivera and co. get fired, do you think a new coach is going to go all in on Howell? I highly doubt that. Personally, I think that was one of the biggest flaws that we've had when Jay and Ron were hired: they were told to work with an existing QB and were not given the resources to draft their own QB. That needs to change IMO.

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
Can't rule out a new GM/HC coming in here and going all out to get their guy at QB, whether that's trading up in the draft, free agency, trading for a vet, etc. In fact that scenario is more likely than not, no matter what Sam does the rest of the way.
Sam really has to kill it these last 10 games to make that a tougher decision for the next GM/HC. |
