Re: playoff scenarios, what to wish for today
Does anyone who understands the playoff positioning know where the skins would be seeded if they win, Chicago losses this afternoon and next week, Carolina losses next week, and Tampa Bay losses next week? I know that's a tall order but would that possibily set us up to get a first week bye in the playoffs?

Re: playoff scenarios, what to wish for today
I think alot of people have been saying this, but the way things are shaping out, if we win next weekend we will probably play the Giants at NY(Come on guys the Rams, they can't win a game). Personally I am not a big fan of playing there, and I would rather play at TB or something.

Re: playoff scenarios, what to wish for today
Bears win and Minnesota is OUT!
Eagles will not be underestimated by the coaches or the team. Because if we lose we're 99% on missing the playoffs unless the Cowboys lose. Rams will not beat the Cowboys, Eagles will not beat the Redskins, Atlanta could beat the Panthers and the Raiders would need almost a miracle to beat the Gmen. We win we'll probably end up 5 or 6th. and I'd like to see us vs Tampa or Carolina as well. But I believe at this point if we can get in we can beat anyone til maybe the SB. Kill the Eagles!

Here is something someone posted on a Giants board about possible opponents, assuming the Giants beat Oakland. I question the tie breaker with Carolina. If Carolina and the Giants win, and Tampa loses Carolina gets the division. Both Carolina and Giants would be 11-5. Both 8-4 in the conference and 3-2 in common games. Next tie-breaker is strength of victory. Well, is that the point differential in all games? Conference games? Common games? Both teams are +99 in all games. TB Beats New Orleans Washington beats Philly Carolina beats ATL (GIANTS PLAY CAROLINA 4 V 5) Skins play at Tampa, 3 vs 6 I think this is the most likely scenario. I do not see Tampa losing to New Orleans, and I think Atlanta is going to play very uninspired football against the Panthers. OR TB loses to New Orleans Washington Beats Philly Carolina loses to ATL Dallas loses to St Louis (GIANTS PLAY CAROLINA IN A 3 V 6) Skins play at Tampa 4vs 5 Scenarios to play Washington TB Beats New Orleans Washington beats Philly Carolina loses to ATL (GIANTS PLAY WASHINGTON IN A 4 V 5) OR TB loses to New Orleans Carolina beats Atl Washington Beats Philly or dallas loses to the rams (GIANTS PLAY WASHINGTON IN A 3 V 6) Scenarios to play Dallas TB loses to New Orleans Washington loses to Philly Carolina beats ATL dallas beats rams (Giants play DAL in a 3 v 6) skins out OR TB beats New Orleans Washington loses to Philly Carolina loses to ATL dallas beats rams (Giants play Dallas in a 4 v 5) skins out If the Giants lose and the Skins win, I think the Giants are guaranteed the 6th seed, but I could be wrong on that. They would lose a tie-breaker with Tampa, assuming Tampa also loses, and I THINK they would lose a tie-breaker with Carolina. |

Re: playoff scenarios, what to wish for today
Now that the Bears have clinched the number 2 seed, and the Giants have also clinched atleast a 6 seed with the Vikings loss, I think the best case scenario for the Redskins would be first and foremorest, beat the Eagles, and then have the Giants lose in Oakland on New Years eve, the Bucs beat the Saints to clinch the division and third seed, the Panthers beat ATL to clinch the 5th seed. We would be the 4th seed and have a home game against the Panthers; a very inconsistent team that does not play well on the road.
THe Seahawks would be the 1st seed THe Bears would be the 2nd seed THe bucs would be the 3rd seed the redskins would be the 4th seed the panthers would be the 5th seed and the Giants would be the 6th seed BEST OF ALL, the COWBOYS would not be in the playoffs. |

Re: playoff scenarios, what to wish for today
Bucs will win, Redskins will win, Giants will win, Dallas will win. I think the very questionable game is the ATL vs CAR game. Game is in ATL and I think Jim Mora plays for the win to possibly knock out the Panthers from the playoffs. So say ATL beats the Panthers my prediction I think would work out like this:
1 Seahawks 2 Bears (we beat both the Seahawks and the Bears this season!!!) 3 Giants 4 Bucs 5 Redskins 6 Cowboys I think Carolina is out if they lose and the others win due to NFC records http://www.nfl.com/standings

Re: playoff scenarios, what to wish for today
You are correct.
1 Seahawks 2 Bears (we beat both the Seahawks and the Bears this season!!!) 3 Bucs 4 Giants 5 Redskins 6 Cowboys And might I add that I don't wanna play the Giants at the Meadowlands for the wildcard game! Rather play the Bucs or the Panthers. But whoever it will be comes after a 'real' playoff game in PHILI on Sunday! KILL THE EAGLES!!!

Re: playoff scenarios, what to wish for today
We must win this week, and after that a home game would be great because I would get to go. Why? My brother in law has season tics, first his friend stood him up for a game (he's out) his wife would have to work that day (she's out) only two children which only one if any would want to go leaving 2 tickets. I've been to all but one game with him and usualy pay for the rooms if we stay the night, and I always cook alot of good food and bring plenty of cold beer keeping him happy. So I'm in as number 3 seed and may be as number 2 seed.

Re: playoff scenarios, what to wish for today
The seahawks and bears have only one conference loss apiece. Guess to which team? That's right - that's how important those wins are. One could argue that the Bears and Seahawks lost to us relatively early in the year, but then we weren't a good team early in the year either. Presently, we ARE a good team. If there's anything Gibbs has brought with him, its the amazing ability to hold a team together through thick and thin.
