Kirk doesn't need gimmicks or 4.3 speed.

You were one of the guys that dissed me when I expressed my concern over griffin way back in 2013, and if I remember correctly continue to support Griffin probably all the way up to training camp this year, so for you to not support Griffin now and take up for cousins is laughable.
And no I am not taking up for Griffin, I've been saying he wasn't that good for a long time now,I just find it very ironic for you to chide me over expressing my concerns about Cousins.

All I am saying is I have some concerns about cousins, and not being able to beat a team over 500 is something to be concerned about.
I have been on the kirk bandwagon since the first game so I am not a Kirk hater, and I do want us to re-sign him, but I know it's going to take a shit load of money and I don't think we've seen enough body of work to invest that much money in him, but we put ourselves in the position that we have no choice.

I have been all in on Cousins but still have concerns. He had a terrible 4th qtr yesterday and looked rattled by the pressure. When he has a clean pocket he's very good, but pressure makes him Brian Hoyer.
My biggest concern is stat I just read today which is unbelievable and gives me pause for concern
COUSINS HAS NEVER BEATEN A TEAM WITH A WINNING RECORD!!
If that doesnt concern you than......
What that tells me is that this TEAM has a ways to go ..He had no time to throw in the fourth qtr.the packers were coming all out..now look at the time rogers had he was picking apart the skins .. to all you guys who really don't believe in Cousins ..what would you say next year if cousins is playing for some other team and we are back to square one. lucky for us the redskins have gotten smarter and that won't happen..i can't believe we finally find the franchise QB and STILL there are those who can't get on board. we got beat by arguably the BEST QB remaining in the playoffs..yes even over Brady. We were in the game into the 4th qtr.. my biggest complaint is the continuous Selfish play of DJAX ..he needs to go someplace else with that side show. he could have easily scored that TD and who knows what could have happened .that gave the packers life .

Re: Cousins has arrived

Cousins has plenty of room to elevate his game, especially since he is about to get paid, but I'd hardly point his way when it comes to the biggest concerns from the game last night.

QB Pressure can make even the best look average. QB pressure made Brady look pedestrian in 2 Superbowls. I am not saying Cousins should never be expected to handle pressure, but when you get it consistently, on top of the fact that the running game is so awful that the the opposing defense doesn't even have to stay honest? Forget about it.

When it comes to the pass rush? I've said it for a few seasons now, we have been trying to get by with crossing our fingers that the sum of the parts will equal more than what each individual has to offer. Kerrigan is a B+ just like Orakpo was a B+ as well. Preston Smith has had a great rookie year, but so did the other two guys and but it didn't translate into them growing into elite pass rushers. Our pass rush has a couple Aldon Smith's but no A+ caliber Justin Smith who takes on a double team and still pushes the pocket backwards. You need someone along the D-line who is an A+ in order for the B+ players to be effective consistently.

One game shouldn't change the narrative. People need to chill out.

Now we've got Hoyer under center and a guy we should let walk if he wants more than 1 year at $10m. FFS.

Lmao. Thats ok. Last night when we still had the damn lead everyone on our team was a pos.
Listen I know we have a long history of suck behind us, but there are a few big differences rite now in 2016 that are in play.
1) DS is pretty much staying quiet and out of the picture.
2) Scot McCloughan is a far damn cry from Vinnie effing Cerrato.
3) We have a full compliment of draft picks.
4) Not only are we out of cap hell but we actually have money to do what we need to do.
5) We have a young QB who - in his first year at the helm- did a pretty god damned good job. I dont give a shit who he beat or what their freaking record was.
6) We will have stability at the coaching position, and the players play hard for the man.
7) We are the defending NFC East Champs and the Eagles and Giants are looking for their next head coaches while the Cowboys are pinning their hopes once again on a healthy Tony Romo to come back and lead their team to the Superbowl. Lol!
8) HTTR!

Re: Cousins has arrived

Players, QBs evolve.
There is a progression happening.

Kirk didn't have his best game yesterday.

He missed some reads, missed some throws (behind, high etc) made some bad decisions (delay of game at the goal line) lost a fumble and took some uncharacteristic sacks. I bet if asked he would admit the above....

It was Kirk's first playoff game though, it doesn't change anything that happened during the season it doesn't change who/what Kirk accomplished. In some respects its a reminder that he still has some room for growth.

I also think the gameplan/playcalling didn't help him out...but it was this staff's 1st playoff game together too.

Re: Cousins has arrived

I've noticed on other sites as well but people need to get over the whole RG3-Kirk BS, KC is wayyyyyy better as a passer and its not even close. RG3 is a good dude with a good heart but when u have guys like Ryan Clark come out and say he's all about his brand, that says alot about his team standpoint. Clark was the same guy that praised Kirk's work ethic.

It's just pathetic with the media...there is no story about rg3. The story is over and has been over.

This stuff about some note, or message on the locker is just horseshit. Why people even bother to read that crap is just beyond me.

Or the fact that we had no running game all season.

Re: Cousins has arrived

u would think when guys like Trent say "we have our QB" and others have said this, that fans would be happy esp after 20 yrs of having none.
