Re: V. Jackson "Prepared to Sit out season"

DT should have been a valuable trade commodity, ie DT and 2012 2nd for VJ, but he apparently can't convince any coaches of his incredible worth. Us keeping him out of games is right up there with AH's "ankle sprain" for theorists like myself. If we trade AH to Tennesse (or Houston) for their 3rd, we ought to give SD that 3rd and DT for VJ. But DT really hasn't flashed enough to wet the lips over in SD. All in all, I believe VJ is going somewhere by Wednesday and if it's us, I would be good with it.

Incarcerated Bob? He sounds trustworthy.

Redskins Insider - Vincent Jackson's suspension could drop to four games

Vincent Jackson's suspension could drop to four games

Redskins Coach Mike Shanahan would not rule out pursuing San Diego receiver Vincent Jackson on Thursday but noted that "we don't talk about people as well, for obvious reasons."

The NFL ruled earlier Thursday that Jackson's six-game suspension would be only four games if the Chargers manage to trade him. Jackson has been locked in a contract dispute with the Chargers, and if they trade him, he could be available in Week 5.

Shanahan offered few hints as to his intentions. "We'll always be trying to upgrade our football team, if that presented itself. We have people evaluating different people on teams all the time," Shanahan said. "You never know when a trade does work out or when you can get somebody to help your football team. But that's part of the process."

Reports have indicated that the Redskins have an interest in Jackson. And the preseason games and first regular-season game would seem to indicate that they still have the need. Santana Moss was the only receiver to notch more than one catch last week against the Cowboys. The team's other starter, 38-year-old Joey Galloway, was targeted just once and didn't have a reception in his Redskins' debut.

Shanahan said the fact that Jackson would not be available immediately will surely weigh on some team's decision.

"Obviously, you'd want a guy who could come in and help you right away over a guy who'd be suspended for four games,"
he said. "I'm sure that people who do make up their mind obviously will weight the strengths and the weaknesses and make the decisions based on what's best for their organization."

This answers nothing, except that VJ is being looked at.

No offense, but if I cared about reports from ES, I'd be on ES.

I just found the quote FROM ES

The report is a twitter from incarcerated bob,who I've never even heard of...

But apparently,is a pretty good source from news from what I've been reading...They even respect the guy from the Jets ganggreen and many other boards..

It's all just speculation like everything else, but coming from this BOB character, apparently means more for some reason...

I'm just giving you guys the heads up...

If it's true then great..if not..oh well?

Is DT seriously that bad as a WR? Did he even get a look on offensive against Dallas?

Re: V. Jackson "Prepared to Sit out season"

Check it out (ESPN.com):
Vincent Jackson to sit out four games if traded under terms of settlement - ESPN
Quote:
"San Diego Chargers wide receiver Vincent Jackson will be eligible to play in Week 5 if he's traded under the terms of a settlement between the NFL and the players' union.

The NFL and the NFL Players Association settled the case in talks on Thursday, the same day Jackson was to appeal for his suspension to be halved to three games. The settlement provides for Jackson to sit out a total of four weeks -- all of his league-mandated three-game suspension and one additional week with his new team. He was due to sit out six weeks as a result of the Chargers placing him on the roster exempt list.

The pact clears the way for an NFL team to acquire Jackson, a top-tier wide receiver who caught 68 passes for 1,167 yards and nine touchdowns last season, for most of the season.

But the agreement comes with a deadline: The Chargers have from 4 p.m. ET on Friday to 4 p.m. ET on Wednesday to trade Jackson in order for him to miss only four games. Otherwise, he's back to sitting out six games."
We may not get him,but V-Jack will be dealt before Wednesday...

Re: V. Jackson "Prepared to Sit out season"

so if we could do a 3 way trade which partner would be the best fit:
The parameters would be this:
the skins send a 5th to SD, AH to trading partner : Skins get VJ,
trading partner sends their 2nd to SD. : Gets AH
one option:maybe the Skins 5th goes to the trading partner and SD gets the trading partner's 6th

Tennessee
Houston (deal would have to be after this weekend's game I expect)
NYJ

Could this type deal happen, and which partner makes the most sense?

OMG. Look dudes trying to pass on any info he learns. Some say the same BS about PFT, Redskins Insider, SI, and so on. Not everyone likes the same sources, so take it with a grain of salt and check your happy sources to see if they are saying the same thing then quote them if you like.

Re: V. Jackson "Prepared to Sit out season"

There could be other teams wanting Haynesworth, but all we know for sure who "would" take him is the Titans.

The Jets lost Chris Jenkins and the Redskins have called them about Haynesworth, but the Jets are keeping things quiet on their end of this...

There could be others, but we just don't know...

The problem with the jets theory is they too,run the 3-4 scheme which contradicts Albert not wanting to play in a 3-4 if he's cool with going there. Maybe he just wants out of D.C...who knows?

But here's a possibility of a 3-way trade involving the jets if Rexy wants Fat Al...

Redskins trade Fat Al to Jets for a 3rd and 4th rounder
Redskins then send that 3rd and 4th rounder, plus their 5th round draft pick to chargers
Chargers send Vincent Jackson to Redskins

So Jets get Fat Al at the cost of a 3rd and 4th rounder
Redskins get Vincent Jackson at the cost of a 5th rounder
Chargers get all the picks of a 3rd,4th and 5th rounders from both teams and dump Vincent Jackson.

Fat Al can play right away...
V.Jackson is qualified to open and play against G.B. Packers game as his suspension is complete.
Chargers get draft picks and rid of Jackson from team

Jackson can also practice with Redskins for the remaining weeks of his suspension,to learn the Offense and be ready for that packers game.

I'm not cutting on you but some people have weird trade thoughts. I would presume the Skins would be trying to hook up with a team that runs the 4-3 and needs a DT in order to make AH happy and his new team. Thats if Tenn bails on us. Why would we send AH to any other team running a 3-4 knowing AH will not be happy and will stir the pot, and why would any team running the 3-4 like us want to pick him up knowing AH does not want to play in it?

So I'm guessing the Jets would not be our trading partner, or anyone else who utilizes the 3-4.

I added the Jets based on the one report above, I agree that only a 4-3 really makes sense, but Rex Ryan could think he can get AH going (and probably could)

I could see those two really blowing the team up. I'd love to watch it.

Re: V. Jackson "Prepared to Sit out season"

I think another team to possibly throw in the mix on just pure speculation is maybe the Bucs?

They were 1 of 3 team willing to shell out 100 M dollars (redskins,Giants and Bucs) before this last offseason.

We aren't trading him to the giants, but maybe the Bucs come in to play?
Add in the Bruce Allen connection and the teams previous interest...maybe?

Plus they run the 4-3..I believe

It's going to get interesting....lol
