And I really dont think Shanny is a Rex fan, I think Kyle is the fan and Shanny just over ruled him and said Cousins is the back up.
I was soooo happy when I read that Rex was put on the inactive list on Sunday!

Cousins is the future and Rex will be gone next season, if not sooner.
Now is the time to work with Cousins and get him ready to play just in case. Rex may know the offense better then any of the three qb's but he is third best at executing it in a real game. Rex throughout his career has been an nonathletic turnover machine. I think Cousins did out play Rex in the preseason even if the stats do not reflect it. Cousins shows more upside and a ton more mobility. In the long run I would rather go with rookie Cousins now as our backup even if it might cost us a game or two early on if god forbid he had to play. Get past that initial learning curve with Cousins and he will play at a higher level than Rex ever played.

RG3 to Davis - YouTube

watch the ball placement in the the 35second mark. Remember,in a span of 4 seconds he had a play action, boot, evade, and throw. Then come back and let the feeling of awe overwhelm you

Can you imagine Rex or John Beck trying that? (or even Jason Campbell)

Rex would have thrown deep and been picked off as the blitzer knocked him down.
Campbell would have completed it to Young
Beck would have been sacked and fumbled.

Sadly yes I can imagine each one of those scenarios all too well.

Yeah, Jason would have tucked the ball and started to run, he then would have been past the LOS and thrown the ball to a what looks to be open WR but gotten picked off by the other team making it an ultimate fail.

Re: Redskins at Saints Post Game Thoughts

Yes, RGIII had a bunch of passes behind the line of scrimmage (7), but how about this state:

Quote:
On throws that traveled at least 10 yards past the line of scrimmage, Griffin went 8-of-10 for 240 yards, and that's not including a 32-yard defensive pass-interference penalty that converted a fourth-and-1.

Young was wide open on that play. The fact that he passed that up to throw across the field to Davis shows me he has a lot of justifiable confidence. Great job by RG3!

8 of 10 on throws over 10 yards? Pssht. John Beck would have completed 11 of 10! Bring back Beck!

Re: Redskins at Saints Post Game Thoughts

Even taking out his one outlier (the 88 yarder to Garcon) he still averaged over 20 yards a toss on those balls - 7 of 9 for ~150 yards.

Remember those missed deep balls to Garcon in preseason? Anyone think he's going to be missing on them in a couple of weeks?

Yes. He would have completed all 11 for a total of 5 yards.

Watch Darrel Young on that play. He was wide open right in front of RGIII but there were defenders in front of him who may have stopped him short of the first down...so Griffin found another receiver across the field who was past the marker. That's either some amazing vision and intelligence or we have a wild gunslinger and chance-taker on our hands.

I'm thinking it's the first one.

Simply a great play. He actually had Young open in the flat but didn't throw it. I bet the coaches were like...WTF is he doing??? I mean, great play Robert!"
