If the Mets get 5 in the bottom of the 7th, 5 in the bottom of the 8th and 5 in the bottom of the 9th and the Braves bats go cold, this outcome may surprise some people.

Lol..Burr is just great

Re: MLB thread

If the Marlins outbreak extends to the Phillies or anyone else MLB is gonna look like idiots for not coming up with a better plan.

All of this could come crashing down very quickly.

Re: MLB thread

Verlander down, possibly for year.

Luis Robert hit his first career HR. Everyone will know his name soon, will be one of the top players in MLB.

Re: MLB thread

It’s sucks...But look at Lou Williams and the nba.

You have to blame the athletes. Too privileged, not too intelligent and don’t want to play by the rules others do.

Exactly!

Personally I thought it was stupid that MLB didn't cancel the entire season. If things get worse with the COVID-19 in the MLB, I can see the MLB Players Union recommending the player Walk Out on the season.

Re: MLB thread

Sports playing in a bubble (nba, nhl) should have a much better chance

vs

Sports not in a bubble (mlb, nfl)

of course playing in a bubble is only possible if you are doing a playoff thing with less teams vs trying to start your regular seasons

-----------------

MLB anticipates this and tried to account for it by having "taxi" rosters so teams could call up or use up to 60 players. But I guess they didnt account for the fact that if enough players on one team get it, you need to quarantine and test the entire team before anyone can play.

MLB also didnt leave a lot of open dates as placeholders for rescheduling games.

---------------

Os 2-1 vs the BoSox was nice to see.

Re: MLB thread

I honestly don't know how the NFL is going to get through the season without a bubble approach.

Re: MLB thread

I cant see how a bubble would be possible for the NFL.

6 regular season games (all vs your division) (16 games total each weekend)
4 locations
2 games at each location on saturday
2 games on sunday

test players on wed, get results back fri ...

Its impossible .. this wont work ..

JP Finlay
@JPFinlayNBCS

For everyone rushing to cancel all sports bc of the Marlins situation, remember that the Marlins are the ones that Fd up. They ignored rules and protocols. This is their fault, not MLB, and their specific situation is an exact example for other teams to take the rules seriously.

a tweet reply said Marlins allowed family to travel with them against MLB protocol.
If so .. as an Os fan ... they should forfeit the games. This has a huge ripple effect. I guess you couldnt prove the outbreak was caused by a traveling family member but it shows the Marlins werent taking it serious.

This one hurts.

If youre an Os fan and listen to baltimore sports radio 105.7 the Fan ... youve probably heard young Mo call in to the Scott Garcaeu and Jeremy Conn afternoon show. A few years ago he would call in every day and make his picks on games and just talkk with the guys.

I heard this young guy when he firrst started calling in and then when they made his a featured daily caller.

he was such a cool kid, had that beautiful uplifting spirit.

Im a grown man crying in my office right now.

Rest In Peace young Mo.
