What I said was... Quote:
As a response to the idea that if Cousins leads the team to the playoffs he'll get the starting job over Griffin. Which is true. There's 11 guys on the field at a time, with 3 different units playing at different times. In general, the total quality of the team is rarely tied exclusively to one player. It's completely possible the redskins win 10, 11, 12 games this year with Cousins being a game manager and the rest of the team playing really well. In my opinion that wouldn't mean he deserves to start over Griffin. He goes out there and leads the team, plays really well, makes big and smart plays, then yeah... He'll earn the job in my opinion. |

Re: Skins-Jags Positives and Negatives
Kirk Cousins is a young QB with even less NFL experience than RGIII. We are definitely going to see good and bad from him, even in the same game. That is to be expected.
Winning is winning. I'm not one to favor making any changes when the team is winning.

Re: Skins-Jags Positives and Negatives
What if we win the next few games or go 4-1 with kirk or a simikar record... rg3 will miss 6 games at the very least... is this kirks team now?

Re: Skins-Jags Positives and Negatives
Kirk is such an Andy Dalton esque qb. Grudens gonna like working with Kirk as his starter. I could be wrong. I like everything about Kirk beside his deep ball.

Re: Skins-Jags Positives and Negatives
One thing I think is a positive if we are in the situation of KC playing well enough to generate a real "QB Question," both RG3 and KC have the personalities that will minimize the divisiveness for the team.
I firmly believe each is extremely competitive, wants to start, and believes they should start. At the same time, neither is the type of guy to try and undermine the other in the locker room. In fact, regardless of whoever wins such a competition, I fully expect the loser to be supportive of and helpful to the winner. Also, in such a situation, I can see a trade working out for the loser that ultimately benefits the Skins. I am hopeful KC shines in these next outings because I believe the end result is good for the team regardless of who our starter is next year.

I'd like to believe this organization is more interested in winning games and building the team to be the best it can be, not nursing the feelings of a QB they traded a lot for. Of course, I am still high on Griffin and think he can be an elite quarterback. Hard to tell what Gruden et al think. |

Re: Skins-Jags Positives and Negatives
Rg was an exciting player he was versatile, shifty, hes special as far as how dynamic he is. Id take a guy who can win and do that over your traditional pocket passer. but we cant have someone whos gonna get hurt again. We should keep both. I want both. DAMMIT!

re: Mike Wises article...
Kevin Sheehan on ESPN 980 has commented multiple times today (Monday Morning Quarterback Show and the Sports Fix) that he had been hearing the same thing for weeks... So while I believe Mike Wise is a piece of garbage that makes things up, I also believe Kevin Sheehan to be the smartest football guy in the Media (Unless you consider Jurgensen to be 'in the media') and I can't ever think of a time where he was just drumming up controversy, it's not really his thing, so... Interesting, I suppose... |

Chris Russel, among others, reporting Griffin has no fracture, does not need surgery.
