Ken Hamlin was the one who started many games for the Boys.

Just a hunch, but I doubt that we see Hightower next season. Royster, Helu, and maybe one from the draft or a free agent. I really don't think Shanahan will want to play with damaged goods.

Players are subject to injuries. Hightower is young and he takes good care of his body. He's great value for what they traded to get him and what he brings to the table. Royster hasn't shown much and therefore he'll be back to the PS next year.

Hightower, even if he loses some of his speed, has hands and knows how to pass-pro. Those two skills will come in handy, even in a more limited role.

He hasn't shown as much as Helu, but he had some nice runs against the Giants in relief of Helu. I say Roster gets more playing time next season.

Indeed, we need more playing time from the Roster next year. If we can't get more playing time from the Roster where is it going to come from? Put this on the list as one of the major questions for 2012.

Some guys get it faster than others. Watching Royster run in the begginning of the season vs the last several weeks is night and day. He is def in the plans for next season and deserves to be.

Agreed, in preseason he looked way too slow to even be on an nfl roster. the coaches knew he was capable of more. gotta like the way they brought along he, helu & Hank.

Re: 2012 redskins

It's apparent that Hankerson and Royster had rookie jitters in preseason. One was dropping passes while the other was fumbling. But they both took the time to develop and are in the run for lots of playing time next season. Hankerson, will be a starter I predict alongside Gaffney. This would make Santana the slot WR.

I believe that this system of Shanny's relies on excellent blockers at WR so guys with just Helu speed can take it to the house. More speed is nice, but vision and agility is more important (regardless of system). But there is no harm in taking a look, now is there.

Note: I've watched any college ball, so this is just a general statement.
