Seems they allow cops to murder people out in LA. This is why I have no sympathy for them when some ex cop decides to go apeshit and shoot a few of them up.

I guess the public disagrees with you , no surprise .

The jury took less than a full day of deliberation to reach the not-guilty verdicts.

Your like a pavlovian troll. Did you watch the video. Just the first 2 minutes of it? At 2:21 one of the cops takes a swipe at the guy's kneecap with his baton before the guy has made one aggressive act. Later the guy is screaming for help and saying he can't breathe. Yeah the jury found them innocent, but that's just as likely due to parlor tricks and the police have better defense attorneys than a junior state DA tasked with standing up for a homeless guy, and probably less then stellar citizen.

if you have the stomach, here is the video of the incident:

GiantOne can't help himself. It would be funny if it wasn't so sad.

If you can watch that video and agree that the Fullerton cops were within department guidelines then you're part of the problem. Not all cops are bad, those were some of the very worst.

Kelly Thomas, a 37-year-old homeless man (whom his Dr's say was mentally slow, and had the mind of an 11 year old), was beaten to death in Fullerton, California... by police officers who felt they were above the law. They are now on trial. Kelly was tasered, beaten with batons, punched and kneed repeatedly, and was even hit in the face with the end of a Taser. After the beating, you can hear Kelly in the video slowly dying as his desperate screams for his father trail off into groans of 'Daddy' and then stop altogether as he loses consciousness. It's important to note that the paramedics treated the officers before tending to Kelly, as he laid in a pool of his own blood. In the video you see Ramos approach Kelly, "It seems like every day, we have to talk to you about something. Do you enjoy it?" Within minutes, Ramos snaps on latex gloves, holding his fists in front of Kelly's face, taunting him, "See my fists? They are getting ready to fuck you up!" Kelly stands up and pulls away while Ramos then tackles him, punching and kneeing him in the ribs as he pins him down for the other officers like a blood-thirsty hyena. Manuel Ramos, who pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder and involuntary manslaughter, Jay Cicinelli, who pleaded not guilty to involuntary manslaughter and use of excessive force (Both are free on bail), and Joseph Wolfe, who will be tried separately on charges of involuntary manslaughter and excessive force are the three officers being tried. Three other officers, Officer Kenton Hampton, Sergeant Kevin Craig and Corporal James Blatney, were not charged.

I am pro cop, they have a hard job...

If six trained police officers cannot restrain and detain one man and instead kill him. They have failed at their duty to protect and serve and are murderers. Period.

I did read that the jury found them not guilty, and as I said, a police department union defense team vs a state prosecutor isn't exactly an equal match.

As for doing their job, I have said before, I was an MP for 5 years, and dealt with drunk soldiers with baton in hand, and no tasers were around at that time. A wired homeless man against 6 police officer, one of whom told him that his fist was getting ready to F him up, is over the line.

Honest question - Did you watch the first part of the video or is your whole premise based on the jury finding them not guilty?

The whole thing is deeply upsetting to me. On a whole bunch of levels. The cops were just wrong. Ramos should have gone to jail, that he did not is a terrible affront to justice and undermines the our legal system.

Bottom line, he was just wrong and it is very hard not to wish him ill.

Firefighter detained by CHP after dispute at crash site - San Diego, California News Station - KFMB Channel 8 - cbs8.com

I'm dumbfounded by this. Never in my life have I ever heard of a firefighter being arrested at a crash site by police while they are providing care. Have these people lost their fucking minds?

Re: What's up with the cops these days?

The Kelly Thomas not guilty verdict blows my mind. Officer Ramos immediately starts acting verbally aggressive dropping F-bombs all over the place then telling Mr. Thomas his fists are going to F him up. The cop is nothing but an A-hole bully, he is armed and twice the size of the small, slightly built homeless guy he is abusing. That cop needs to rot in jail for life, and put in general population so he can get back the crap he dished out for the 10 years he was a cop. All he got was fired, pretty sure this wasn't the first time he abused authority.
