re: New Games on the Horizon (the video game thread)
I played the Crysis 2 multi-player demo this weekend and wasn't too impressed. It's got potential, just hope they clean up the bugs and get things ironed out for the release. Just seems like a cross between COD and Halo.

I'm not a huge fan of Halo so I hope its good cause I need a shooter until Battlefield 3

re: New Games on the Horizon (the video game thread)
Crysis 2 is getting good reviews... sounds like they addressed the issues from the multiplayer demo and the single player sounds good too. Good to hear, I'll be picking this one up for sure.

re: New Games on the Horizon (the video game thread)
Haven't messed with the full version of the multiplayer yet but the single player of Crysis 2 is pretty bad ass and this is easily one of the most gorgeous games I've seen running on something other than a pc.

re: New Games on the Horizon (the video game thread)
Am I the only one here that's to good for FPS's? I feel like I've outgrown the genre ever since I traded in Call of Duty World at War (which was probably the last FPS I truly enjoyed).
Also tried Dragon Age II. Really wanted to like it after possibly being able to say that Mass Effect 2 was the best game I ever played (both games are Bioware products). Yet I couldn't enjoy it. I have a bias against fantasy medieval games to begin with, but have been able to make exceptions (most notably Assassins Creed II and Brotherhood). After playing Dragon Age, I just couldn't get over the bland environments during fight scenes and the gameplay wasn't really enjoyable for me. Again really wanted to like it but it didn't do anything for me.

Call of Duty World at War sucked.

re: New Games on the Horizon (the video game thread)
Yeah World at War was weak.
There are a lot of other quality shooters out there other than the COD games. COD represents just one take on the FPS genre. I'm having a lot of fun right now with Battlefield Bad Company 2. Such a nice break from the run and gun, kill and respawn nature of COD. |

Can you even play the first one on a game console?

A guy I work with loves that game, haven't played it myself but it's gotten good reviews.
