Mike Shanahan really, really, likes Robert Griffin, really.
And the more I hear Mike Shanahan talk about Griffin the more excited I get.
One things for sure, I'm definitely rooting for him to get it right with Griffin just to shut up the haters who want the Shannies fired.

According to Kendall Wright Baylor did not use a playbook in college. Does no playbook in college = RG3/Skins running no huddle offense this year?

Fat hard drives.

Re: RGIII Named Starter

RG iii has said that a few times in interviews. Nothing new there and I would assume that MS would definitely take advantage of his comfort in a no huddle offense. From all reports he hasn't had a problem picking up the play book.

Impressive.

Just another weapon, thats all. Comfort running the no huddle is ALWAYS a good thing. ALWAYS. lol.

Not sure why people would think a man who graduated a year early with a BA degree in Political Science and a 3.67 GPA would have any difficulty grasping NFL concepts/playbooks.

Re: RGIII Named Starter

The verbiage of the west coast offense is complicated. Colt McCoy learned it from Brett Farve. RG3 was probably taught the basic concepts and was able to grasp the verbiage shortly thereafter. Mike Shanahan said that during mini camp practice Griffin III didn't get any formations wrong and it was the first time ever a quarterback who ran Shanahan's version of the west coast offense got every play correctly in conjunction with every formation.

The author of that article thinks:

I have a pretty strong feeling the Redskins are going to incorporate a healthy dosage of the no huddle offense. Like say, 50 percent of the time.
I disagree with the author.

I think Baylor's physical playbook or lack there-of is a non-story that has very little bearing on Griffin as an NFL QB.

Baylor isn't unlike any other spread offense that calls their plays via hand signals form the sideline that has a truncated or non exsistent physical playbook like Auburn, OU, Ok St., TCU etc.

Redskins 80th Anniversary Event: Mike Shanahan

Mike is head over heels for Griffin.

Re: RGIII Named Starter

The no-huddle offense is a weapon in and of itself. It's also something we haven't done (well) during my adulthood. If Griffin can effectively run it half the time this year will be tons of fun.

Like the Colts in their heyday with Manning.
