Re: Redskins Training Camp Thread
Agree that Gruden's job should not be on the line with a true rebuild, regardless of how long he's been there. That's why I don't wanna see Haskins out there prematurely (especially if he's not ready), if Gruden flat out feels he can't win with Colt/Case. Just don't want to see Haskins' growth/progression take a hit unnecessarily.

He didn't look nearly as great so far in pre-season as he did on his highlights (crazy, right? ^^) but potential is evident. Hope he earns the starting job soon.

Re: Redskins Training Camp Thread
Common sense would tell you if you start a rookie QB that there may be some growing pains. I think Snyder has been around long enough to know that. Starting Keenum to maybe try and get another win or two just does nothing for me. Keenum went 6-10 last year with Denver. Who's to say he can do better here?

Re: Redskins Training Camp Thread
The FO will never go into or admit full rebuild. According to Bruce "we're close." To what? 9-7? Look what happened when you played what should have been a SB team. Brees had his family on the sidelines celebrating records. Bruce has to be the dumbest executive in pro sports. Quit trying to BS the fans. Look at your stadium on Sundays. Own that, instead of dancing around it.

Re: Redskins Training Camp Thread
I fully expect it to pick up right where it left off last season, and continue to get worse. Unless they start off like 4-0 to 6-1 and somehow look really good, I think it's going to continue to decline. Some good potential players drafted aren't going to change things overnight. You still see #FIREBRUCEALLEN everywhere you look.

Re: Redskins Training Camp Thread
Just read this great article about Kerrigan and how committed he is to maintaining his body for football.. Perhaps there is not much else Redskins can do to prevent injuries, only players themselves need to put in the work and commit to body maintenance on their own? Kerrigan gave a great example - "If you are out here working your ass off in training camp and going back to the hotel and ordering burgers and fries for dinner, you are going to struggle the next few days."

That's what I thought too, sure seems like it. I hope there's at least one or two players that his words rub off on, we need all the help we can get at preventing injuries.

If this team starts out 1-3 or 1-4, Jay will be gone mid season

Exactly. Redskins will probably be Vegas morning line underdogs for 7 of the first 8 games. Khalil Mack is going to destroy his old teammate Donald Penn wk3. They better bring 5 QBs for that game. |

Re: Redskins Training Camp Thread
The Bears defense will not be dominant as they were last year simply because Vic Fangio isn't their defense coordinator anymore, IMO. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that Bears will be easy for Redskins to beat but I doubt they will dominate on defense side that is unless Gruden don't call plays that will protect Keenum.
