Re: Choose Your 2014 Redskins Head Coach (Volume 2)
One coach that I really like but is not available is Mike McCoy. I think he's doing a great job in SD.

Shanahan has done well in making sure the Skins are worst than when he got here. Plus he also makes Snyder seem like an owner that involves himself too much. Similar to why Dallas cannot get the coaches they want. |

What Philip Rivers is doing this year is a pretty good look at what Griffin can do as soon as next year. Rivers is still sloppy on some quarterbacking nuances, but he's really good at moving the ball and putting points on the board. And Mike McCoy types are available every year. Nothing special, just good, well organized coaching.

Re: Choose Your 2014 Redskins Head Coach (Volume 2)
Who cares, the team is going to still suck!!!!!! The present roster is medicore, and will take 3 seasons to remedy that, and that is if the front office has a solid plan that it can actually get done in terms of getting the pieces in place. The other big issue is that this whole debacle proves and what the Marty debacle proved is that you can't have a strong willed coach work with Snyder or Danny boy will undermine him or just fire his ass. Danny helped create the monster diva in RG III, and any new coach is going to have to kiss RG IIIs ass. Do you think Bill Cowher would want to be a part of this organization knowing full well of how it is run? I don't want a college coach, just because he coached our diva in a college system in a conference that is known for absolutely NO DEFENSE. Besides we had that experiment with Spurrier and Danny "Awful", another Heisman winner. Personally, I do like John Gruden, but I don't think he would want to work for Snyder unless The Danny put up a ton of cash, and even then I think he will pass. He is making tons of $$$$$$$$$ just BSing about football and making commericals. Why put yourself in the middle of a firestorm? I am thinking we will have another Zorn type, a young assistant that will go for it, just to at least have on his resume he was a HC, but I think the smarter ones will not bite. Zorn will never ever be a HC in the NFL ever again because of the disaster he had in DC. The smarter ones will bide their time and go to a team they can win with and have a decent career. I just don't see this farce getting any better. I still think Jerry Jones and Snyder are geniuses and are just laughing at us little people for actually caring about this shit.

Pro football is all about the $$$$$$$$$$$, nothing more, nothing less. Watching last year's playoffs and the Super Bowl totally confirmed my long held suspicions that it was just about the money, and fixed as well, and not just by the zebras.

Re: Choose Your 2014 Redskins Head Coach (Volume 2)
I do think Snyder is smarter than Jones in that he stays quiet for the most part, thus doesn't say a lot of dumb things like Jones, but he likes his drama, because he knows it sells tickets and gives him free advertising. The thing is I think the charade will get old, and maybe the emphasis will be on winning again. This stupid obsession with getting teams in Europe is fantasy at best. FIFA games are not well attended as NFL games, as Europeans need every dime they have to survive anymore.

The stadium was half empty. If the Skins didn't play Dallas, it would be half empty again next weekend. Most owners only care about winning because it makes them money. There concern for winning games is distant second to making money. At least for the majority of owners. |

Re: Choose Your 2014 Redskins Head Coach (Volume 2)
Who ever the coach is I hope he brings winning here because i am tired of reading stupid comments like this on si.com, espn ,etc...
I am not a Redskins fan...so I love the soap opera that this causes...Let's see what the Redskins problems are...1) They have an owner who knows nothing about running a football team...He's a fan who had a ton of money and used it to buy the team...2) The Redskins are run like a fantasy football team...Look at the way they've obtained players...Always paying too much for the hottest free agents or selling the farm to move up in the draft...RGIII was the hottest QB coming out of the draft last year...Sooo the front office sold the farm to St. Louis to move up to draft RGIII...I said it then...Dumb move...He's too small, he's injury prone (you blow your ACL before your 21...it's going to happen again)...I was called hater and all these other wonderful names..Guess who was right...Anyway not to gloat...3) This team is only good at one thing...creating headlines other than winning football games...Let's see...You have Albert Haynesworth, the Cap Penalty, Jim Zorn's incompetence, etc...etc...Albert Haynesworth should be the model of what not to do with your money...The Cap Penalty...say what you want, how unfair it was to the two teams, the NFL has it out for the Redskins and the Cowboys...I drop the BS card on that quick...The owners had a gentleman's agreement (an unsigned contact) that certain things would not be done...Both of these teams violated that agreement in a pretty egregious manner and were made an example of...You think you have a gripe...Imagine what the Steelers went through...There are two rules named after Steelers players (Hines Ward rule and James Harrison rule)...If you don't know what they are, then you don't follow football enough...soooo quit whining about the cap hit...4) The defense is one of the worst in the league...Unless this team scores 30 points regularly...they are going to lose...Between Wilson and Deangelo Hall, I wouldn't use them to cover a bed much less a professional receiver...They can't tackle, cant cover, cant create pressure...Sounds like a typical Jim Hasslet defense...How does this guy keep getting jobs???...I'll wrap up with this because the Redskins problems are multi-layered...5) RGIII is from a generation that does not know how to interact as a team member...he only understands how to promote himself...This is the entitlement generation that we created...By giving everyone trophies and allowing everyone to be a "winner" we in fact created this monster...He's a ego maniac...He thrives on all the attention being on him...If it's not...there's a problem in his world...He needs therapy not a new coach...The NFL is about performance NOW not what you did in college... We are just a laughing stock of the NFL. =(

Re: Choose Your 2014 Redskins Head Coach (Volume 2)
^You let that bother you?
I read that and just hear fear from a division rival. That flat out fear and hope that RG3 is done, because he knows what happened last year, can happen again. I like that post. My only concern right now is Shanny isnt fired. We got to take that first step and fire everyone on the coaching staff and then make a good hire.
