Re: McNabb a REDSKIN!

I can't believe this is true, but it has to be better than what we have had a quarterback the past 4 seasons.

I wonder who they will take in the draft now, if anyone.

Also hope that the signing of Willie Parker means that CP doesn't see much field. LJ & Parker are a good set.

HTTR!!!!

Re: McNabb a REDSKIN!

I guess now I'll have find another name fo him besides Mcpuke. Can't say I love the move but I think we can get a good three years out of him while we groom our future QB.

Re: McNabb a REDSKIN!

All I know is McNabb kicked our ass for years lol So I'm thrilled he's our QB and the Eagles have a unproven Kolb, and Mike Vick LMAO

Trade JC for a #2 and were right back in it with an OL.

I don't know maybe it's just me.
McNabb.. our 1st and next year's something

If McNabb lasts longer here than Kolb does in Philly, we probably end up winning this trade. In all other scenarios, we probably lose it.

The gamble is that we can get better production from the 33.5 year old than they can get from their 26.5 year old. It's a gamble that we'll lose most of the time. But you only have to win it once, I suppose.
It's not McNabb vs Kolb for us.. unless you're suggesting that we should've pushed harder for Kolb

I don't know how you measure Stafford's impact, but I'm going with wins. And Sanchez had the best defense in the NFL, still he had a very uneven season.

Look, I don't want to take anything away from those guys, but when you look at the QBs coming into this league on the whole, those you cited are the exception, not the rule.

Major props to Jay Glazer for being on top of this. He's one of the best in the biz. I shouldn't have doubted him.

I don't know yet how I feel about this. I have a great deal of respect for McNabb, but I'm concerned that this could mean good-bye for Sexy Rexy! Seriously though, I think McNabb has two to three strong years left in him. And hopefully here he'll get the run support he didn't get in Philly. I gotta think they're still looking at a QB toward the later rounds though.

I'm not usually too surprised by moves the Redskins make since I generally get a heads up on things that are brewing. I would say, with very little hesitation, that I have never been as surprised about a Redskins move in the last 10 years as this one.

So, do we like this better than getting Cutler last year?
In that context yes I guess.

This is a better trade than Cutler because we didn't pay the ridiculous compensation for the player.

But the principle mistake of assuming that the grass is always greener on the other side hasn't changed.

Still, landing a top offensive tackle at No. 4 can make our offense greatly improved no matter who is behind center (McNabb, Campbell doesn't really matter).

Where this trade is a killer is in future seasons when McNabb simply isn't good enough to be an NFL quarterback, but we give him a Delhomme type extension. The 2010 Redskins probably aren't any better or worse off, the 2011-2013 Redskins are a LOT worse off now than they were yesterday.

Yeah that's why I posted that I figured that we had to have a deal pretty much in place or we were stuck.. unless some team misses their first couple of QB options in the draft

Re: McNabb a REDSKIN!

I see us drafting Okung now, OR trading down and getting more picks as well as Charles Brown. I also think that we DON'T Draft a QB this year, But next year.

No, we'll draft a QB and Colt Brennan will be gone.

McNabb notoriously underthrows receivers and can't create with his feet anymore. In fact I'd argue that JC is more mobile that DM right now. Unless that line gets a ton better, we've come nowhere with this. I wonder what all the lovers would be saying if it was Cerrato who made this same move?

I'm still undecided, but I'm leaning towards not really liking this, especially since we'll probably give him a lucrative extension as well. With this move, I now forsee at least a few current players traded before the draft.
Several current players have been shopped around for weeks now. I'm not sure the trade changed that much.

love how all of the mods on the other board were shitting all over the poster that mentioned the speculation/rumor and then when details came out they were saying that it was old news and not relevant now

I mean I didn't think it'd go down either but the guys act like they work in the building haha
