Wow Henicke really took advantage of his opportunity here. I’ll be pulling for him in the ATL. Falcons, much like us here, have decent personnel on Offense.

@AlbertBreer
Taylor Heinicke is signing a two-year, $14 million deal with the Falcons. As part of it, he gets ...

• A $4 million signing bonus.
• A $6.32 million guarantee.
• $7 million in cash each year.
• $3 million in playoff/playtime incentives each year.

Deal maxes at $20 million.
Good for him, from sleeping on his sister's couch to legit NFL backup. Great story.

Kinda hate to see him go. He was at least fun to watch and the perfect backup. I'd rather have Taylor than Andy Dalton.

Exact opposite for me, give me Dalton as a backup

The fans' obsession with Heinecke is a peak symptom of Ashburn syndrome. Just because he lucked his way through a few wins, doesn't make him a good QB.

I don't think it's an obsession, maybe for some. He's fun to watch, the players seem to play really hard for him and he has actually won games around here. Plus he can use his legs and move around. This is the NFL. You generally don't luck your way into wins.

If I was the actual GM would I go over what he got from the Falcons? Probably not.

But whatever vet they bring in I would also draft another QB in the mid rounds.

What???

RG3 prime was fun to watch; TH was being in a the passenger seat of a drunk drivers car. Sure it is "exciting" but you're just waiting for the eventual crash.

I call it Little Mac syndrome. Everyone wants to cheer for the under dog but in the end the game is named after Mike Tyson. We need a Mike Tyson at QB not Little Mac Tyler.

We'll always have Monday night against Philly. Good bye sweet prince.

Yeah it’s weird. Seems like he is willing to stop playing due to not being paid enough.

I think you could call it that, rooting for the dog. I never wanted TH as a starter. I feel he is the perfect back-up or 3rd guy.

The goal of the backup imo is to be able to hold down the fort while the starter is out. I think TH more than did that during his time here. When he had to play for long periods of time he obviously got exposed, like most back up QB's do.

And so he's willing to accept not being paid at all. So odd.
