I did the previously unthinkable and started Roethlisberger ahead of Rodgers in fantasy today, and so far it's worked out for me.

Great looking team, despite having Romo.
instead of needing jermichael finley to score < 41 tomorrow night, i need him to score < 14. i ain't scurred though

Don't you hate it when people propose dumbass trades to you?

The players he wanted to get rid of:
Anquan Boldin
Percy Harvin
Shonn Greene
Dennis Pita

My players he wanted:
Dez Bryant
Julio Jones
Christian Ponder
Matt Forte

This dude knows that I'm not a idiot, but it blows my mind he still sends shit like this. This should probably go into "Grinds my Gears"....lol

that was a good call Mooby. Takes some balls to sit the top passer the last several years.

Good call on this, I get stupid shit like Brandon Lloyd for Larry Fitzgerald. I usually reply with a message like...are you kidding me? if it happens again from the same person, ill send a message along the lines of "dont send me anymore trade offers"

Re: Fantasy Football 2012 Thread

I have a WR dilemma this week.

Here are my WRs;

Cobb, Jennings, Brandon Marshall, Andre Hawkins. Should I go with both packers against the saints, or just Marshall and Jennings although Marshall has been streaky and is going against a tough cowboys D/secondary. Or Hawkins who has been lighting up the NFL field getting double digit fantasy points, going against the Jags.

If Jennings is back healthy, you have to go with him and Marshall. If any doubts about his health, replace him with Hawkins.

Cobb isn't consistent yet, I own him on a few teams. Now, if you're in a return-yardage league, Cobb is a must-start.

Re: Fantasy Football 2012 Thread

Okay, It's a PPR league and here is my roster:
WR: Nicks, Garcon, Bowe, Amendola
RB: Peterson, F. Jackson, LeShoure, P. Thomas
TE's: K. Rudolph, J. Gresham

We start: 2 RB's, 2 WR's, TE and a RB/TE/WR Flex
I am going with WR - Nicks, Bowe; RB - Peterson, LeShoure; TE - Rudolph.

Who to use in the flex? Gresham, P. Thomas, Jackson, Garcon or Amendola?

Also, benched Brees v. G.Bay for Flacco v. Cleveland.

Thoughts? Anyone think that's crazy? I am having a hard time wrapping my mind around benching Brees.

Fred Jackson if he starts

Re: Fantasy Football 2012 Thread

As to lowball trades, I guess it depends. It may just be a feeler, to let you know they are interested but unsure of what you would be willing to accept. For lowballs, I generally reject if I have no interest or, sometimes, if slightly interested make an equally preposterous counter offer. If actually interested in off-loading the targeted player, I'll counter offfer with something I consider reasonable.

I guess it's all how you view the negotiations process. I've made a few lowball offers that ended up with good substantive trades benifitting both parties.

Re: Fantasy Football 2012 Thread

Another general question to the group - how many leagues do you all participate in?
I am currently in 2 but have done 3. After that, I tend to lose track of who I am rooting for to do what.

For folks who do more than 4 or 5, how do figure out who to root for? Or is it just a matter of "I'll play lots in hopes I hit the right combo somewhere"?

Play in 5, 4 free and 1 pay. I will tend to have a couple guys on multiple teams as starters or sleepers.

Re: Fantasy Football 2012 Thread

I'm in 2 leagues and I'm 3-0 in both. Build balance across your teams and you can win consistently. Its that easy. However Fantasy football involves a lot of luck and finding late round gems. I got RG3 in round 9 and he now starts over Tom Brady for me.
