Re: Our New Head Coach - Dan Quinn

Just thinking this out, a rookie head coach on a really crappy team is a bad combo. So it is possible we dodged a bullet. But from that standpoint, I am not sure we got the best availability ex NFL head coach, hell, we didn't even interview 3 of em. I am still pissed am may forever be pissed that we hired some asshole with a star in his cap. Dallas sucks and I don't want anything to do with them. What is so hard to understand? Doesn't this owner give a shit what the fan base thinks? WE WANT DALLAS, WE WANT DALLAS!! WHAT THE HELL? We want to DESTROY THEM, not marry them. And to top it all off, he is marginal, as his record shows. I hope this guy gets fired before he walks in the damn door. It is just shitty. I believe in hating Dallas first, even at the expense of winning, because that won't happen anyways. Not the Superbowl anyways. Anyone here think Dan Quinn can take any team to Win a Superbowl? He couldn't do it with Shanahan calling his offense with a pro bowl vet QB, It definitely seems like Rivera 2.0 to me, plus the stain of the enemy. UNCLEAN! UNCLEAN!

But it would be pretty funny to steal their D.C. then go 2 and 0 against them next year with him. Imagine how salty Cowboys fans will be after the playoff game this year going to shit and losing to us next year? Laughter is the best medicine.

Can't wait for FA to open up. I want to see Peters in his best skill-set, player evaluations and acquisitions.

Let's see: you're upset because we didn't interview two former HCs, I assume you mean Vrabel and Belichick. These are two coaches that are going to want final say in personnel decisions wherever they (see BB not being hired in Atlanta for that reason), like the Ron had when he was head coach. Yet you're saying that Quinn is going to be Ron 2.0?

I'm thinking if Kelly was the choice for OC, wouldn't they hire him now? I think they are going to wait for a 49er assistant to become available after the SB.

Also depends on when Dan Quinn actually starts I'd imagine

This is going to be the longest off-season possible. Ultimate blue-balls until Week 1.

He has a small window to try to make this happen and if it doesn't succeed he is probably a career coordinator from here on out. Watching Quinn's interviews I don't feel he has the arrogance or cockiness that some hot shit has and thinks they have a magic button and will turn this franchise around. He knows it will involve turmoil and might not succeed.
Colin Cowherd (yeah I know) compared the hiring to Houston hiring DeMeco Ryans. He wasn't thrilled with it, because defensive head coaches don't have great track records lately but said the fit was understandable.

Pretty fair evaluation I thought.

I just gotta say, Adam S is the GOAT. How the f*** does he get every single breaking news story that is real, and barely any bs ones.

We should change our currency logo to In Adam S We Trust

Re: Our New Head Coach - Dan Quinn

Ruhskins Made a comment that is spot on .. he said "we got a head coach we wanted" NOT We got THE head coach we wanted ... huge difference! Yea Quinn's name was in the Mix from day one and it took several circumstances for him to end up as Head coach .. Johnson seems not ready and somewhat of a head case .. and MM just decided on seattle , We were still left with one of our top Choices! I tend to believe we dodged a bullett with Johnson He obviously is not ready for head coach and I'm glad he ain't here ! I'm on board with whatever they do and we will see ..

Johnson may have been a favorite, but Keim said that it wasn't a situation where he was THE guy like it was with Peters. No team got a chance to make an offer on Johnson, and he stood up the team for the second interviews.

MacDonald and Quinn had their interviews on the same week, and around the same days. Keim and others had reported that ownership's plan was to finish the interviews on Tuesday, and make a decision at the end of the week. They stuck to their plan.

Again, people are going to want to create their exaggerated doom scenario in their head. But to me, they went with their plan, and got a HC they wanted.

Anything we hear from the likes of Florio or all these other TMZ-like reporters, is clickbait to get fans riled up for nothing.
Agree 100%

When Ron was here, it was the Washington Panthers as far as people that were hired. Now it seems to be the Washington Cowboys so far. Probably not great moves so far...

Oh yes. The, "why are they hiring people they are familiar with" argument.
