Great job D-rave! As far as people I know on the internet go, you're already a 10. I hope someday I have the same commitment that you do.

Absolutely. Hopefully not a targeted one now.
Glad the French government is recognizing his actions. Hope alot of the idiots out there read this and finally realize muslims and terrorists are two completely different things!

Re: The Good News Thread

the lady is going to new orleans tomorrow.

im dropping the kid off at my mothers sunday night.

I have the house all to my self for the Div Champ games.

Last week I watched the games while simultaneously participating in a huge dinosaur and princess doll tea party that lasted hours.

This weekend?

Im getting wings from Kislings. extra crispy old bay, with hot sauce on side.

Im driving to a supposedly really good beer store to get something special.

I may even buy a pack of smokes and walk down the street to go to the titty bar for a half.

maybe grab a pizza pie from matthews?

bomb pie from dangerously delicious?

options are endless!!!!!!

For those 6 hours or so, i will be in man heaven and i am not going to waste a second of it.

Re: The Good News Thread

My computer crapped out last week so I've been on hiatus. I'm back now.

My last computer was about 5 years old (aka, A dinosaur) so I said f, it and I built myself a new computer. Got the parts and a case, and viola, here I am.

It's my first build so I'm pretty proud of myself. I did have some help from the gf, but I picked out all the components, mounted most them and troubleshooted the majority of the issues I had all by myself. Thanks to my dad forcing me to do some of my own upgrading by myself (simple things like, adding/removing RAM, adding/removing GPUs, etc) when I was a kid in middle school, I already knew my way around a computer's interior.

Kinda proud of my new rig.

Nice, congrats! I built my first rig last year, skimped on a couple parts like the graphics card and the cd drive but I am really happy with how it's turned out a year later. I can't recommend it enough, I've already swapped parts out for better ones and it's still running great (for what I ask it to do). Hope yours works out for you as well as mine has for me.

I do like that aspect of it, being able to swap out parts whenever you're ready to. I skimped out on the graphics card as well. It's an older high end card (about 2-3 years old). It was on double clearance for less than $100 marked down from over $300. I figured whenever I have the cash, I'll get a better one. I can't complain though because this is the first time ever I've been able to play games at ULTRA settings. I used to play on low and if I was lucky, medium.

And I just swapped out the CD drive from my old machine as well as the RAM since there was nothing wrong with them. lol gotta save where you can, ya know?

If you can swing it, make sure to pick up a SSD. My mom had complained about her slow laptop (about 4 years old) and was going to drop $500+ on a new one. I went to best buy, grabbed a $80 SSD and her laptop flies. Boot time went from 3-4 minutes to 30 seconds and the overall speed is great.

Did the same to my brand new laptop and the difference is remarkable. Kinda wild how I've always thought the best bang for your buck was processor or additional ram. Not the case...By far a solid state drive.

Re: The Good News Thread

FINALLY got hired after being laid off in early october!

i interviewed [3x w vp of marketing; he told me i was their guy] w a company in october, they jerked me around until january - when they let me know that they instead promoted someone from within. that marks the only time i've interviewed for a job and not been hired.

i interviewed w these guys in late february, 4 interviews later; i received an official offer, i start the first monday in april.

praise be!
