Re: Eagles Postgame

It's all moot!

A lot of really great hindsight here. They didn't lose because RR decided not to go for 2, or because Terry was called out of bounds, or because of any one play / call.

Bottom line is they just needed to play better. They needed to be more consistent. You can't put together three good quarters and expect to beat a really good team in their house.

Hopefully they learned a lot about themselves, and that one sticks with them. Time to move on to Da Bears.

Yup. Third quarter got away from us instead of the first. We did play great for three quarters on the road against a great team. 3-2 here we come.

Would have liked to see him just stick that foot in the dirt. Oh well.

McLaurin sucks! Trade him for a fifth! Lol.
Seriously though rewatch the whole catch there was that moment where it’s like oh man point that toe in the turf! Such our luck with the forearm. Anyway beat the damn Bears bad and it will all be better.

Re: Eagles Postgame

Just watched the game again. First half the OL did a really good job so did the D. With 2 minutes left Washington was at the Philly 10 yard line and could have gone up 21-7. In the 10 yard line, Howell tripped on 1st down, on 2nd down, Gibson got the ball bobbled it, recovered and lost yards, 3rd down Howell to Dotson to the 10 yd line, settle for field goal.

Philly faces 4th, Hurt scrambles sideways1st down, Hurts makes pass to Smith with 30+ seconds to 30 yd line. Settle for field goal 17-10 halftime

3rd quarter:

Hurts 28 yard pass to Brown to 35 yd, Philly avoids disaster when Payne and Young him, ruled incomplete. Settle for FG 17-13.

Washington gets ball with 11:38, they face 3rd and 4 with 9:35, Dotson has ball go through his hands, punt. Hurts throws 59 ydTD to Brown, dbacks look keystone cops, 2 point conversion successful. Washington gets ball with 7:11 on clock, Thomas gets 1st down on QB sneak. Howell to Brown pass to 20 yard, incomplete, Blankenship gets away with hold, next play holding penalty on OL, punt with 4:35 left. Gainwell big run, Hurts to Goedert pass to 35 yd. Hurts to Brown, PI ball on 26 yd. End of qtr.

4th qtr:

Gainwell fumbles, lane Johnson recovers, FG 24-17. Howell drives down, scrambles and gets hit out of bounds, PF, 1st down. Pass to Dotson to 5 yd line, incomplete. 3rd and 1, Thomas tries QB sneak, illegal formation penalty. 1st down to philly 25 yd. Robinson 9 yd carry. Robinson 15 yd TD run, 24-24 with 8:01 left. JSW misses sack, Hurts scrambles for 30 yds. to 50 yd line, Forbes breaks up pass to Brown, Hurts throws another pass, Forbes drops int. Washington starts at their own 10. Howell overthrows Pringle at 45 yd line. Howell scrambles 20 yds for 1st down. Howell sacked due to Wylie lose 7 yds. False start Wylie, 4th down. Way punts, bad SP coverage, Philly in 43 yd. Zaccheus catch to 45 with 2 minutes. Hurts throws bomb to Brown TD 31-24 1:44 left. Howell faces 3rd and 17, pass to Pringle, 4th and 2. 16 yd pass to Brown, 1st down, ball 30 yd line, pass to Tmac to 10 yd line 5 seconds left. Pass over middle incomplete, 2 seconds left, TD to Dotson.

OT

Howell to Dotson 3rd and 5, pass to McLaurin to philly 45 yd. Ruled incomplete (BULLSHIT). Terrible punt by way, ball on Philly 40 yd line. Hurts to Brown ball on 48 yd line, 4th down, Philly tush/push 1st down. Hurts to Swift to 39 yd line Davis barely missed him. Hurts pass,,intentional grounding, ball on 45 yd. Pass to Smith ball on 44 yd. FG good, game over.

Observations:

Forbes was the main culprit, followed by Wylie allowing a sack followed by a penalty. Forbes dropped int, Dotson let ball through his hands on critical pass, refs blew penalty on Blankenship vs Brown, refs blew Tmac catch in OT, JSW missed a critical sack leading to a 30 yard scramble, special teams coverage sucked and Way’s terrible punt in OT.

Howell was overall outstanding, D played well except for Forbes mistakes. OL did well except for Wylie’s mistakes. With the ball on the Philly 10 yard line before halftime, Howell tripped, followed by Gibson bobble, settled for FG instead of TD.
