Re: Redskins Cowboys post game
Romo is now 4-4 against Jim Haslett’s defense with a passer rating of 84.8 in those meetings and a very low yards-per-attempt of 6.88. Both of those numbers are severely below his 96.8 ratings and 7.65 YPA against the rest of the league. And versus blitzes? Before last night, Haslett had him at a passer rating of 69.8 and a 6.47 YPA.

Re: Redskins Cowboys post game
Play RGIII if he's ready--the WHOLE point of the remainder of this season is to get RGIII comfortable in Gruden's system, IMO. The kid needs reps. He needs to learn on the field. He needs to get a groove on with Jackson, Reed, etc. And we need to find out if he's the man.
Now, if he's not 100% healthy, sure, sit him. But that's the only reason.

Re: Redskins Cowboys post game
This is the luxury of playing a solid all-around game while beating your biggest rival, afterwards the only thing to bitch about is crap nobody should really care about. Sure beats "Cousins looks like shit" or "this team looks like they couldn't beat a D3 squad."

Re: Redskins Cowboys post game
Cowboys were definitely thrown off by our D. If they had kept to the run (and kept Weedon in), we'd have had trouble there. BUt they really felt they could beat the blitz straight up, mano a mano. Pride will kill ya.
It was a nice game plan made better by the cowroids playing into our scheme. Plus, guys were playing hard, flying to the ball, doing their jobs. That makes any scheme better. On offense, I really do like how Gruden and co. call things. We left some points on the field, no doubt, but they kept aggressive and didn't back down. Nice. Stoked about Reed. What an addition on third down/red zone. Nice block on the sneak as well. WOnder if Hankerson will get back in--it would be nice to have some size to go with DJack's mad speed.

Re: Redskins Cowboys post game
The 80 yd. drives were so nice to see last night.
Still felt like our OL & DL were getting beat at the LOS though.

Re: Redskins Cowboys post game
Not sure if this was posted, but, man, I love this. Gruden's post game speech in the locker room (or at least a little bit of it). Check out the team reaction when he passes out the game balls to Breeland and Amerson. Great stuff.

Re: Redskins Cowboys post game
Not so sure the oline was last night, at least in the 2nd half. The d-line was pushed, but they have some pretty serious beef up there and we're a bit thin on the line. The blitz countered that well and they could have called at least 2-3 holdings, iMO.

DL was playing a little flat footed though. Agree that the blitz did counter it well. 3-4 DL's are supposed to eat up blocks but they really weren't firing off the ball at all, looked like they were letting the blockers come to them instead of taking them on. Just being nit-picky that's all.

When you bring all out blitzes all night you have to have a lot of faith in your corners, and Amerson and Breeland were straight up ballers last night. |
