Re: Redskins Hatters In The Media

No one respects a loser, and we have been losing for a long time. The Skins are a big time franchise in the NFL so they are going to get a lot more attention that Cinci, Buffalo etc. etc.

Just win baby! I hope Rexy is extra Sexy this season because its looking like he will be the QB this year and I dont want to go 6-10 again. With the DirecTV package its hard to watch every game when they are losing but I cant turn it off. Hail!

Thirdly, the best players in the NFL are guys on the downhill, who, once they get their big payday, will put in their best effort yet to show they can still contribute on the backside of their careers.

But in order to get these players, you will always have to bid against somebody else. Even if nobody else wants these players, you have to have the mentality that that is a lie and that everybody else wants these players, because that's the truth.

Now, when you get in a bidding war for a player, self created or not, the first step is to throw a huge contract at the player, so you have the lead. Then you keep throwing more money into the deal to keep removing any doubt that the player you want is going to choose you.

All this happens, of course, after you fly your boss' private jet out to pick them up, and then bring them back to the area to dine at Morton's steakhouse. You gotta show these players that they can live the high life in the area and always have personal access to the owner in case your new coach doesn't always agree with you.

The best part is, you don't even need to talk football with your new superstar, because you already know he can play the game! And don't look into character concerns at all, especially if your superstar can be potentially moody or want preferential treatment, because that only happens to teams that don't have stable environments.

Now once you've loaded up your roster with all these stars and thrown in a couple rookies to spice up the mix, you're set. Just sit back and watch the Super Bowl trophies start rolling in!
let it out!...lol...he looked unsure of basic answers. so glad he's gone!

Oh well, I guess Bleacher Report is going through the sae initiation process PFT went though. Might take a year or two but I think eventually it will be taken a little more seriously. Ironically a lot of the post on BR to this day are more professional then PFT.

Re: Redskins Hatters In The Media

Bleacher Report has been around for a few years, and they are attempting to become more credible by seeking out indusry veterans such as hiring a former exec from Yahoo! Sports and Fox Sports, and recruiting...moderators on Redskins message boards.

Are they media? I guess they could be, depending on your definition. But really they're a place for people like us on chatting on a message board to post our thoughts in longer form to a larger audience. It's as if we all shared a blog. A big problem with BR has been their inability to filter out crap, so there have been a lot of really stupid articles posted on BR over rhe years.

They have done a good job improving that, and they do have some good writers...such as our own NLC.

I find it funny though that NYCSkins posted a fan-written BR report as proof of why the media hates us...yet just a few posts ago posted another fan-written BR report as proof of a positive media report.

It's hard to evaluate them though because as Smoot pointed out there are professional writers and actual media members contributing to the site who are posting right alongside your average forum posting blowhards.

I don't think I said they have professional writers. I'm not sure they do. But then again, their content is often syndicated to more traditional media sites. And some writers do get compensated. I believe based on the value of their article, but I forget exactly how it works.

So as Smoot said. All of the writers on Bleacher Reports are paid members of the media with proper credentials and should be taken super seriously.

Don't worry Smoot. Dirtbag59's got your back.

I wonder if the 1st team comes out tonight and plays well how many "Hatters" there will be tomorrow? especially in the media.

Re: Redskins Hatters In The Media

Hey I know its only preseason but Rex played a nice game tonight. If given time Rex can run this offense and find the open man. The defense only gave up 7 points and both starting safeties were out tonight. So far you can see improve on this team. We still have some tough choices to make when trimming down the roster. The media praising Rex after his 1st preseason showing. Its Redskins Nation against the World. HTTR

NFL.com news: Preseason offers first impressions of quarterback situations

Quote:
Mike Shanahan has Rex Grossman ballin'.
Say what you want about the ninth-year pro, but there is no denying Grossman's production since stepping into the starting lineup for the Redskins. He posted 300-plus yard games in two of his three starts a season ago and appears ready to build upon that momentum based on his performance against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Grossman was extremely efficient -- completing 19 of 26 pass attempts for 207 yards and one touchdown -- while guiding the offense with a diverse approach. He patiently worked the underneath areas of the field and avoided forcing the ball into coverage. His sharp execution and methodical approach are drastic improvements from his days with the Chicago Bears, and opening the preseason with such a strong performance suggests he has embraced his coach's offensive philosophy. There is an underlying concern that Grossman could revert to his old ways, but his recent strong play could be the result of an ideal marriage between system and passer.

..and just for Smoot.

Quote:
It won't take long for Matt Moore to supplant Chad Henne as the Dolphins' starting quarterback.
It's tough to justify a personnel switch on a single performance, especially one in the preseason, but Henne's disappointing play against the Falcons is worthy of concern. The fourth-year pro looked indecisive and uncomfortable in the pocket and his failure to find his passing rhythm kept the offense stuck in neutral. Henne also had two turnovers, including a head-scratching interception to Brent Grimes that prompts questions about his judgment in the pocket. Moore, on the other hand, displayed better poise and presence in the pocket. Granted, he worked against Falcons backups, but his confidence and decisiveness led to better play from the unit. The Dolphins appear to have a roster capable of making a push at the postseason, but the quarterback play threatens to hold them back. If Henne continues to deliver dismal results, it might be time for Tony Sparano to hand the keys to the offense to Moore.

The Hatters are suspiciously quiet. Its only preseason but I am having a hard time not thinking its going to be an awesome season, and a quiet one from our critics.
